~"You're either taking my hand or I'm carrying you.". His lips formed a slight smile once he finished his sentence, eyes locking with mine again.~Heat slowly made its way into my cheeks, covering them in a light red tone. I stared down at his hand which still was waiting for me to take it.
Tendou leaned down just a bit so that our eyes now were on the same level.
We're close.
"Are you gonna take it?"
It was barely a whisper but he knew that I'd heard him. His hand now stayed in front of mine.
"Or not?"
His head tilted to one side.
The heat which previously only was in my cheeks spread to my ears as well. I looked down at his fingers which were only millimeters apart from mine.
Take his hand, you know that he's going to carry you if you don't.
I nodded and took his hand.
"Not like that."
He let go of my hand just to intertwine his fingers with mine.
While my face was burning, Tendou had a satisfied smile on his lips and we finally made our way inside.
Holding hands was something we used to do when we were younger whenever one of us was scared of doing something. I didn't think he would ever do that again. We hadn't done it in years, I thought that he simply forgot about it.
But he didn't.
Just like the outside the inside of the building didn't look any better. Glass was spread all over the floor. Parts of the walls were destroyed and pieces of cement were laying on the ground.
Still holding my hand we went upstairs, occasionally taking a break so I could catch my breath.
The building we were in wasn't too high but high enough so we could see above the trees.
I yawned.
"Someone's tired" he stated the obvious.
"Yeah because that someone got woken up at 5 a.m. in the morning, Satori."
It sounded more harsh than it was supposed to be.
He suddenly got serious, pulling me by my hand he still was holding in front of him.
"I'm sorry. Genuinely. But I wanted to share my favourite place with you. With the best view of course." he smirked towards the end.
"What view?"
"The one in front of you." he jiggled his eyebrows.
"Satori" I let go of his hand to hit his arm. Hard.
Tendou rubbed the place I had hit for a couple of seconds, not expecting it to hurt that much.
"No but seriously..."
His hands grabbed my shoulders, guiding me close to the edge of the building, until he stopped a couple of meters in front of it.
From here we could look down at the trees which surrounded the building. They weren't too far away but not close enough for me to reach them.
Far away, behind mountains I could slowly see the sun rising. Only a couple of clouds were tinted in an orangey colour but there would be more soon.
While I still was admiring the tinted sky, Tendou squatted next to me, taking out a blanket from his bag and spreading it on the ground.
"Here." He pointed down at the blanket, gesturing me to sit down next to him. The blanket wasn't too big so when I sat down our legs touched.
A few minutes passed, the sky gaining more colours and the sun coming out from behind the mountains. The clouds were now tinted in pink, peachy and yellow colours. All mixing up and forming a beautiful scenery. With the sun rising, the birds started waking up as well, chirping.
"It's beautiful."
I didn't dare to turn my head, not wanting to miss a single second of the sun rise.
"It is."
Out of the corner of my eyes I could see him looking at me. It caught me off guard. I closed my eyes for a second while a slight blush covered my cheeks. Leaning back, supporting myself with both of my hands I looked at Satori. His red hair was spikey as always. Compared to his usual appearance when I got to see him at school in his uniform or sports wear he was wearing sweatpants and a hoodie. He looked comfortable, at peace even. As if his mind was finally calm.
"What?"
He didn't need to turn his head to know that I was staring at him.
"You look... " I took a short break looking for the right word. Satori now turned his head to look at me, raising an eyebrow.
"Peaceful."
Stupid. Why did I have to choose this word?
"Well" he turned his head back, looking at the sunrise.
"It is nice not having to listen to what other people gossip about me in the hallways."
Not knowing what to say I nodded my head slightly, encouraging him to go on.
"Plus, I am here with my favourite person."
Tendou wasn't the kind to blush a lot but I could see his ears changing colours.
I didn't expect Satori to say something like that, my stomach filling with a warm feeling.
"Satori I-"
I got cut off by him, pulling me to him.
"You are my favourite person, y/n. Don't even try to change my mind about that."
He was starring into my eyes. His usually pale cheeks were covered with a light blush.
There was more behind his words but I didn't ask him, not wanting to push him.
His slender finger smade their way onto my cheek, thumb brushing over my skin. Just for a part of a second I could see his eyes looking at my lips. My heart started picking up its speed. He pulled me closer to him, placing a small kiss on my forehead.
I closed my eyes, not knowing what to do or how to respond.
His body moved back, hand letting go of my cheek. Placing my head on his shoulder, I looked at the scenery in front of us.
The sun now was halfway risen. Painting the sky and clouds in strong orange and peach tones. It was beautiful. Almost too good to be true.
"You're my favourite person too, did you know that?" I looked up at him.
