Shino Pov-

I think Artemis is avoiding me. Whenever I'm around him, he makes an excuse to get away from me. This has been happening for a few weeks now. I'm worried about him. He would always look exhausted whenever I saw him. Sometimes he would trip over himself while he tried to get away from me. I've decided that I was gonna try to talk to him.

Sometime Before School

Artemis was making toast with Rikku as I walked up the stairs. I walked to the kitchen where Artemis was at. "Artemis, can we talk..?" He flinched when he heard me voice.

He stopped what he was doing and looked towards Rikku, "Hey, uh, Rikku, I'm gonna head out! Clover needed me to help her with something! I'll see you in class!" He said while walking toward the door.

"Oh, umm, ok.. But Shino--" Rikku was cut off by Artemis saying bye. Rikku glanced over at me and then nervously backed up a bit.

I was pissed. I clenched my fists and gritted my teeth, "Why does he keep avoiding me!?" I shouted and Rikku took another step back. She looked towards the door and then back at me. My eyes were burning, I was shaking. I could feel tears building up in my eyes. Rikku must have noticed. She jumped on me to embrace me into a hug. I took a deep breath. All I could do was hug her back. "I'm gonna stay home today.. Can you tell Avian that I'm sick or something..?" I asked while breaking the hug with Rikku. She nodded. I tried to smile at her but I just couldn't.

I turned, went down the stairs and into my room. I flopped on my bed and curled up into a ball. My knees against me chest. All I could think of was why Artemis would avoid me. Did I do something wrong..? Did I hurt him somehow..? I was stiff, my eyes burned, and hot tears came rolling down my face. All I could do is lay there and sob.

Rikku Pov-

I stood outside Shino's room. I could hear muffled sobs. He broke. I don't know what to do.. I was angry at Arti but I didn't know what he was going through either so I took a breath.

I went upstairs and got my school bag. I stopped at the door and turned toward the stairs. Shino can take care of himself, right..? I sighed, "Shino, I'm heading out!" I yelled but there was no response. I looked at the ground while I headed out and walked to school.

I bumped into Shizu on the way to school. I told them what had happened this morning. Their eyes turned blue and I look a hold of one of their hands. "Should we try to talk to Arti to see what's up..?" I asked and Shizu looked me in the eyes.

They thought for a moment before saying anything, "I think we should let them figure things out.. If things get worse we'll talk to him ok..?" I nodded and held his hand tighter. I was afraid that things would get worse.

Weeks Later

Things did get worse.. Artemis started coming back to the dorm extremely late and he's been avoiding Shino 24/7. He won't even talk to him anymore. He's been avoiding almost everyone. He skipped some of his classes but he stilled attended some. Everytime schools over, Shino goes to his room and just breaks down. After a while, it seemed like Shino had completely given up on trying to talk to Artemis again. So Shizu and I decided to get involved.
