I walked over to Monica, who was leaning over her Abra, muttering words of encouragement as she returned him.
Monica looked up at me, a mixture of sadness, disappointment, and anger in her eyes.
"Hey it's okay;" I told her. "This was our first battle! There is still lots of room for improvement! For both of us!"
I patted her back, and Gible walked up, patting her back as well.
Monica smiled.
"Thanks Gible," She patted Gible on the head.
"Hey, guys!" Clide walked up, handing us both backpacks. "You almost forgot these."
I grinned. "Thanks Clide." These were adventures backpacks. Random contents were placed inside, little in some, a lot in others.
Monica said her thanks as well, and Clide smiled.
"Well, I best be off then," He said, pulling off his Ref shirt, and revealing a blue and white striped tank-top underneath. He handed the shirt to his Emolga, who flew over to the lab and placed it on a metal plate that was on the ground. The metal plate then went underground, taking the shirt with it. It reappeared moments later with a stack of $10 bills. Emolga glided back over to Clide, carrying the money in her mouth.
"Thanks bud." He said, taking the money from Emolga.
"Emol!"
And with some final goodbyes, Clide walked off.
Monica stood up. "This is where I go too."
"Right..." My voice cracked. I automatically pulled her into a tight hug. "Bye, Bye, Beautifly." I said into her shoulder.
"After a while, Sandile." She returned the hug.
I slowly let go of her, then completely.
And as Monica started to walk away, I said one more thing.
"We WILL see each other again."
Monica looked over her shoulder.
"Yes. Yes we will."
And I turned and walked away before I started crying. But then I turned around two minutes later, hoping to catch a last glimpse of her, but she was out of my sight.

<Later that day>As I trekked through the forest, the winter suns cold light beating down on my sweaty forehead, I saw a green tail flick through the brush. My brain instantly said, follow.
I ran after the tail, until I came to a meadow were I could see the whole creature.
My jaw dropped.
It was huge!
It floated in the air. It's whole body was green. Its head was dragon-like, and green spikes stuck out of its head. Its eyes were black with yellow dots in the middle. Its arms were sort of like a Charizards.
Its eyes glowed at me. It then opened its mouth, revealing long, gleaming white teeth. It let out a roar. First throaty and weak, but then erupting into a screech of pure power. It then lunged at me, but not in a threatening way. More like a I need to talk to you
way.
But I didn't take any risks.
I sidestepped the pokemon, and then took this moment to send out Gible.
"Gible! Gib!"
I called out a move. "Gible use dig, then scratch!" Gible burrowed under the ground, leaving sort of a mole hole were he used to be.
Then the ground shook below the pokemon, and Gible shot out of the ground, his fingertips glowing.
The pokemon floated upwards a little, and Gible could only jump so high.
He barely grazed the pokemons stomach.
The inside of the pokemons mouth glowed a little.
It was then when I realized it was using dragon breath.
It aimed the attack at Gible, and then green and purple flames spewed out of its mouth, hitting Gible and knocking him unconscious.
"A dragon move?" I whispered. "In one hit?"
I was so perplexed by this that I didn't see the dragon claw it sent at me, the move that knocked me out.
