I had already completed phase 1 of my plan, get into the complex maze of tunnels and airshafts. Nearing another bend, I heard a loud peircing alarm being set off. At first I was slightly panicked, but tried to keep calm to minimise the noises I made. I crawled over to the nearest vent and listened to the commotion going on. Instead of hearing angry shouts about a break OUT, I heard the scared screams of a break IN. I was relieved but also a little nervous, what could have been so dangerous that the guards are running from it? 'I don't think I wanna know...' I thought, shaking my head. Just before I turned away to grab the music box and find the fan, I heard one of the guards shout, "what about (y/n)?!"

"oh fucking forget her!" A scientist yelled back. I growled in a deep tone.

Eventually, I found the fan. I pulled it out and placed it to the side. Gripping the box, I climbed out and dropped about 2 feet onto the roof. Hugging it to my chest, I scanned the field and surrounding forest, for anyone who could possibly get in my way. 'shit...' I thought when I saw two figures, standing near the edge of the forest. Thanking my enhanced eyesight I saw that they were both males from the masculine posture and stockiness of their limbs. I couldn't make out any facial features because they were two far away.

Suddenly, one of them raised their arm in my direction, I had been spotted. I frantically looked around for a way to leave before either they find me, or something else does. Finding nothing, I was just going to hope upon hope that they didn't come up here, when an idea struck me. It was the complete opposite of what I had been trying to acheive but it might just work. I checked back over to the men and saw that they were now running towards the building, towards me. I sprinted back over to the vent, popped the fan and jumped inside with the music box, replacing the fan before heading deep into the maze of tunnels. I would remember my way back because I had been given an abnormally good memory by one of the drugs they had injected.

Eventually I found myself beside a vent looking down into a room with a window on one of the walls. It was a good thing because now I could see how light it was and whether it was night or day. After a short while listening to the silence of the building, I fell asleep. When I awoke again, there was bright light streaming through the window, and some of it had streaked across my eyes, the light waking me up. I was still in the vent. 'Thank God!' I thought after listening out and hearing nothing but the dust settling. I didn't dare stretching just in case there actually was someone there. Heading straight back to where the fan was I peeked out and around, before hopping out when I saw the coast was clear. Looking over the edge of the building, I saw absolutely no one in sight. But, that wasn't the disturbing part. Oh no... The disturbing part was all the blood staining the grass. What happened while I was totally soundo? I contemplated whether I should go into the forest to try and get away from this place or if I should just go the other way into town, and risk getting caught and put to another lab, or even a mental institute. Yeah, no competion, forest it is. Leaping from the roof I used the ledges here and there to help me get down to the ground without breaking my ankles. To free up my hands, my tail had taken the liberty of wrapping around the music box to carry down, no way I was leaving my creative genius behind. Avoiding all the blood splatters proved to be easier than expected, and soon I was scaling a tree and jumping from branch to branch to just get away from the place that had brought me torment for (1 year less than your age) years! Finally, I was free! Or, so I thought...
