The Volturi Hybrid

Aro, Caius, and Marcus were in the throne room of Volterra Castle with the guard. It was a normal night, until Angelica, the new human secretary intended to replace Bianca, stormed into the room. Jane was curious. Why was the human storming in the throne room all of a sudden? Then Jane noticed the bundle of blankets in Angelica’s arms. “Sirs, I f-found a c-child.” She stuttered nervously. Jane rolled her eyes. Humans were all the same to her. Weak and inferior. Especially their new secretary.

  “A child?” Aro asked. Why would someone leave their child outside of a castle inhabited by the world’s most dangerous vampires? “Yes sir.” Angelica answered. Aro was curious. Was this child human, immortal, or was it possibly a mix of the two like Renesmee Cullen? “Bring the child to me.” Aro commanded.  Angelica obeyed and walked forward until she was in front of Aro. Aro took the child from the secretary and looked closely at the child. The child was a girl that looked about six months old. She had olive skin, and dark, wavy hair. The girl was beautiful in a classic European way, but one thing seemed out of place on her. She had bright red eyes. At first, Aro thought the child was an immortal, but then he heard her heart beating. “She is a hybrid. Half mortal, half immortal. Just like Renesmee Cullen is.” Aro said in slight awe of the child he held in his arms.

  “What should we do with her?” Alec asked. He, much like Aro, was curious about this child. “We keep her. I am curious about how hybrids grow and live. I want to know if they are wastes of time, or if they can benefit us in the future.” Aro answered. “If we are to keep her, she will need a name.” Caius said. He was intrigued by this girl. She could become a great help to the Volturi, and if not, she could easily be destroyed.

  “Yes. She will need a name.” Aro agreed. He looked up from the child and met Jane’s eyes. “Jane. Would you please pick a name for our newest member?” He asked the young vampire. Jane looked surprised at first, but soon regained composure. She walked up to Aro and looked at the young girl in his arms. She thought about what this child should be named, and suddenly the perfect name came to mind. “Gabriella.” Jane said while smiling at the child.

  “Gabriella. A good name for this child.” Aro mused. He handed Gabriella to Jane and ran off. A few seconds later Aro reappeared with a small, black box in his hands. He took the lid off the box, and on the inside was the Volturi necklace that all the members of the Guard wore. Aro took the necklace out of the box and held it in his hands. He smiled at Gabriella. “Welcome to the Volturi Guard, Gabriella.” Aro said as he put the necklace around Gabriella’s neck.  Jane smiled as Aro did this. For some reason, she knew this girl in her arms was going to be a very important member of the Guard.
