(A/N: New chapter time!! Art above is mine).

Over the course of several orns, Drift's injuries were healing up nicely. He was starting to walk again with Rodimus's help, though there was a slight limp but as Ratchet said, it will go away soon as the injury continued to heal. Since his pede was cut off, it would be the one to take the longest to heal. He would just need to take it easy and rest.

His optic was almost healed. He was starting to see out of it again. It started off with a faint glow but steadily grew brighter as the orns rolled by. It was a nice change for him. His stab wound however would need a little more time to heal though.

Overall, the healing process was going well. Although... that never stopped the nightmares from coming back from that day. Drift shifted in his recharge. The night started out fine but as he drew deeper in his sleep, his processor made him experience that day all over again.

The torture that he had endured from the rogue decepticon leader made him feel the searing pain from his wounds and all he could do was scream in agony as he once did in the jail cell they locked him in. Across the floor with his blurry vision he could make out the shapes of the leader walking away in satisfaction with his work...... his severed pede a few feet away from him, his optic receiving no visual and his sword in his line of sight covered in energon.

At that time Drift jerked awake from recharge, his optics adjusting from abruptly coming online. He sees that he is still in the med bay. No rogue leader in sight and his injuries were tended to. He shakily lets out a sigh, visibly shaken from the nightmare even though its been coming back ever since he's been rescued.

All he can really do now is try to forget about it and go back into recharge, but he knows that will never happen. So instead he opts in staying awake for the rest of the night.

Somewhere on the Lost Light...

Rodimus awoke from his recharge feeling something was off. He climbed out of his berth and exited his room. He was unsure of what this feeling was but as he treaded through the ship, he realized he had lead himself to the med bay. He was asking himself the question of why did the feeling bring him here? He was unsure but if he were to figure out the answer to his question, he might as well go with it.

The door opened and he let himself in. The med bay was dark, the only sources of light in the room were coming from the windows of the ship.

Venturing further, Rodimus walked over where Drift stayed and by the time he was in front of the TIC's berth, he could now see why the feeling had brought him here. Drift was sitting up from his berth, his head in his servos and optics shut tight almost as if he was trying to block out everything around him. He didn't even hear the door open or hear Rodimus enter the room.

"Drift?" Rodimus asked, his voice sounding concerned. No response came from the other mech. Rodimus stepped up to his berth placing a gentle servo on Drift's shoulder. The gentle touch startled the distressed mech.

Drift looked up to see Rodimus beside him. "You okay?" Rodimus asked with a concern look in his optics. The TIC looked down avoiding the prime's gaze.

"...I'm fine." He said. From the sound of Drift's voice, Rodimus could tell that something was not right from how the other mech stated those two words.

"Even I know that you don't believe that. What's wrong?" Rodimus asked. Drift stayed quiet.

Rodimus sighed, "I understand if you don't want to talk about it. But just know that I'm here for you."

Giving Drift's shoulder a gentle pat, Rodimus turned to walk out of the medbay. Before he could get to the door, barely a whisper was heard.

"I keep remembering that day."

Rodimus stopped in his tracks. Turning around he could see the healing mech staring out into nothing with a far away gaze.

"It's like my processor wants me to relive that day." Drift whispered. Rodimus slowly walked back to the berth.

"It won't let me forget... It won't stop." His voice quivered as he clutched his helm again, optics opened halfway.

Everything in the room started to blur for Drift as his optics welled up with tears. Rodimus couldn't leave his friend like this. Not in his state of vulnerability. Slowly approaching the side of the berth Rodimus slowly raised his servo, making sure that Drift could see it and him as well.

The last thing he wanted to do was to make him panic and slowly set his servo on his friend's shoulder and sitting on the side of the berth.

Rodimus carefully embraced Drift, not too tight but enough if Drift wanted to pull away from it. The TIC tensed up but after realizing what the mech was doing he gradually melted into the hug.

The Prime swayed gently almost as if he were comforting a sparkling and made little comforting clicks to hopefully help calm down the distressed mech in his arms. He hoped that it helped to a degree.

Drift had already been through a lot and Rodimus could only hope that he could help the mech however he can and help him recover from the trauma of that dreadful day.

Primus, even he couldn't get that image out of his processor. Seeing the mech without a pede or an optic and even a stab wound and drenched in his own energon, he thought that the mech was already offline.

But one thing is for certain...

Rodimus won't let this happen ever again.
