THESE CHARACTERS DO NOT BELONG TO ME AND I DIDN’T CREATE THEM! THEY BELONG TO THE AMAZING J. K. ROWLING AND I’M JUST BORROWING THEM FOR MY FANTASIES.

“Hermione, tea is ready!” Mrs. Granger called from downstairs. “I’m coming in a minute mom.” Hermione Jean Granger, a 17 year old witch who is known to be one of Harry Potter’s best friends, answered. It has been three months now since “the Golden Trio” had conquered Lord Voldemort the darkest wizard of all time and saved the magical world of him and his Death Eaters.

The Battle of Hogwarts was one of the most tragic events in the history of the magical world. The Dark Lord was finally gone but a lot of innocent people were also gone. Some of the loveliest, generous and smartest wizards and witches lost their lives and Hermione still cried sometimes at night when she just couldn’t stay strong anymore. Tonks, Lupin, Fred, Lavender and more were dead.

Severus Snape was dead. The Potions Master who Harry, Ron and Hermione and actually everyone except the Slytherins used to hate, but who turned out to be a loving and strong man who did everything to protect Harry from the Dark Lord because of his love to Harry’s mother Lily.

But Hermione couldn’t think about that now, she already thought about it the last three months. She had to finish packing her stuff because she was leaving in about two hours. She was staying the next two weeks in the Burrow before the three of them and Ginny headed back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy to finish their seventh year. Hermione forced them more than she convinced them to go back because it was important to her that they were completing their education. Even though Harry could now do and be everything what he wanted because he was the hero of the magical world, he agreed and Ron also decided that going back was the best thing to do (though his mother and the fact that he didn’t know what to do with the rest of his life also played a big role in his decision).

“Hermione, the tea is getting cold!“ Mrs. Granger called again and Hermione headed downstairs.
“Sorry mom, I just had to make sure I didn’t forget anything.” She sat down on the couch and looked her mother in the eyes. They were the same brown as her own and sometimes Hermione could still see the confusion in them when her mother couldn’t remember something. Her dad had the same look sometimes. These looks made Hermione really sad but they were  aftereffects of the Memory Charm she used last year to make her parents forget about her so they could live in safety while she was defeating Voldemort. After the battle was over Aurors searched Mr. and Mrs. Granger and brought them to St Mungo’s Hospital so they could get their memories back. It worked quite well but sometimes Hermione’s parents couldn’t remember specific things like that they used to spend the holidays in France with her or what Hermione’s favourite colour was. Hermione was glad that they could remember her at all but it still made her sad knowing that she did this to them. But she would do anything to make sure they were safe.

“Oh Hermione, I’m sad you’re leaving but i want this last year of school to be perfect for you. You are such a smart girl and I am very proud of you.“ Mrs. Granger said and gave her a warm hug. “We’re both proud of you!” Mr. Granger who just came into the room added.
“I love you.” Hermione said to them wiping the tears away that suddenly came up. “I’m really sorry I can’t visit you during Christmas break but I just know that I’ll have to study a lot and I don’t want to fail my N.E.W.T.s!”
“That’s fine, honey. We will survive but promise that you’ll write us.“ Mr. Granger said to his daughter who nodded her head.

The next hour Hermione finished packing and said a final goodbye to her parents but not without a lot of tears. She would cry so much lately she was concerned it would happen in front of her friends. Everything was over now, Voldemort was gone but her heart was broken by the lost of their friends.

She was now looking forward to see Ron who would hopefully understand and comfort her. She still couldn’t quite believe they were dating now. It was kind of weird because they have been just friends since first year but their kisses felt good and she really missed him. They hadn’t really seen each other the last two months because Hermione was on holidays with her parents after they were released from St Mungo’s and Ron had to help his mother with Fred’s funeral and the household and stuff.
Harry stayed in the Burrow since he had no house or family he could live with and helped them, too. Of course Hermione missed him, too.

And so Hermione looked at her house and her parents who stood at the front door and waved and disapparated with her suitcase in her left hand.
