Chapter Five

Aurora's POV

"How much?" I genuinely asked.

Calmly I waited for a response but only got a laugh from Erika. "Wait. Were you serious? I'm not a rat girl." She said with a hint of sarcasm.

Realization of what I have just said caused my words to become caught in my throat,
"S-sorry." I felt the heat rising to my cheeks and pushed my hair back behind my ear, even though it was already there.

"So - are you going to pay me to sleep with you?" She said using my words against me, and I never wanted to bang my head on the wall. I never felt so stupid in my life.

Erika's POV

AJ paused long enough to make me start to wonder if she was serious about giving me money for sex, my jaw dropped wide open, "Wait. Were you serious? I'm not a rat girl."

"S-sorry."

"So - are you going to pay me to sleep with you?" I teased her just to get back and she almost whimpered in shame. "Oh my gosh, it was a joke. You're so slow. We can't go to my place or yours. It's too far. But we could just check in. Somewhere we can be alone." I proposed. I know what I want, and I'm not afraid to ask for it.

Everything feels like a dream to me, seeing Aurora unable to resist any longer. She gently pushes us towards the bed, while kissing and touching my body. But before doing something both of us could possibly regret doing, I stop the kiss and ask, "Are you sure about this?"

She chuckles low and soft, "Shut up and take off my bra, Erika. I don't want to feel anything in between our bodies." Aurora's voice turns deeper and smoky when she utters these last few words.

Her fingers slowly unzip my clothes, it falls on the floor. I pull her dress up over her head, throwing her clothes beside mine. Our lips lock again, deeper this time, as her fingers slip into my underwear.

Aurora's POV

I inhaled that gray stench, the odor that foretold tar- "Are you in a relationship?" Erika asks. A chill goes up my spine as if she's seen right through me.

I take a deep suck; feeling the sweet burning sensation curled throughout my lungs and throat, ripping its way to my head and finally let it out in a huge cloud watching the light create abstract colors out of the mist still hanging in the air.

"Daniel," I answer.

Erika's eyes search mine, while I let her, even though I'm terrified she'll find out the truth.

"Daniel?" Her lips trembled and pressed the cold cigarette to her chapped lips, hugging the paper weapon as she clicked the lighter to life and lit it.

"I may be in a relationship?"

Erika's mouth hung with lips slightly parted and her eyes were as wide as they could stretch. She takes a moment to process it and finally answers sharply... "Relationship."

"Why?" I apathetically say. It's too late to play innocent anyway.

"So you're cheating." Her voice breaks as she tries to speak.

"Well, technically... we haven't seen each other for more than 6 months."

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean you can just... never mind." Erika voiced, obviously sounding a bit disappointed.
