I walked to work and tried to Shield myself from the rain. I wasn't having the best day, but I had to make a bill payment so I still went to work. I walked into the old Diner putting on my apron, and started my rounds.

I noticed the one man that's been sitting here for about 4 months was at his usual table, I always take a little bit of time to just observe him, his dark hair was Messy from running his hand through it all day, his face was probably sculpted by the Gods, but if I was to look into his eyes, those dark green orbs, I could sense something behind them. I don't know if it was either sadness, anger, or despair, but what I did know was that it wasn't something that I wanted in my own.

I walked over to his table like usual and  introduced myself and asked him what he would like.

"Hello, my names Ophelia I'll be your server today, what can I get started for you?"

I look up from my notebook for a moment and see he's on his phone like usual, and I just wait for him to make his order.

"I'll have a small espresso no sugar or creamer and a croissant." He said with ought looking up.

I wrote down his order and looked up from my little notebook, for once he was staring at me and for the first time since he's been coming here we made eye contact. I felt Shivers going up my spine but I didn't react to them, he made me feel small but once again I didn't do anything, I smiled and said I'd be right back with his order and walked away.

No matter how many times I hear him saying how order his deep voice always seems to surprise me. As i'm in the back making his espresso, I thought back to when he looked at me, when he actually looked at me. Sure he's looked at me before but this time I could tell that he was really looking at me, I didn't like it, not one bit.

I made his coffee and grabbed a warm croissant and made my way back to his table. I gave him the order and told him to enjoy and went over to the next table to take their order. I could feel his eyes burning into the back of my head, So I turned around and looked at him. For the second time in the four months he's been here we made eye contact, this time was different though oh, it was different than when he looked at me not even 10 minutes ago. there is something sinister behind his eyes I feeling that I could not shake off, I didn't know why but from this one stare, this one look he was giving me, I could tell he was a dangerous person, don't ask me why I think so or how I know, cuz I don't, it's just that something in my gut was  telling me to stay as far  away as I could.

After about an hour or so of him sitting there he got up, paid his bill and walked out. I walked over to the table to clean it up and pick up his bill. I noticed a stack of hundreds in the middle of the table, I almost screamed, it's the most money I've ever seen and he just easily gave it away as a tip. I stuff the money into my bra, knowing my boss he would want a cut of the tip.

I continued on through my shift with nothing interesting  happening and started closing up the diner. As I left the wind was blowing into my face causing me to shiver, but I didn't care and continued on home.

As I was walking out I felt like somebody was following me every time I looked back and there was nobody there. I'm on my way to the doorstep, unlocked the door and walked into my little apartment. I was exhausted so I went straight to bed and called it a night hoping and wishing let tomorrow just be a little bit better and then I'd be closer to my goal and finally leaving this life behind.
