To begin with, our relationship with her was never simple. As she invaded my world, it seemed as though she had wrecked all the walls, I had put up over the years to keep people out of my space and tear it apart like a hurricane, but I let her in, was that a mistake? No, I don't think so. By unlocking all of my inner doors with her own unique key, she unlocked a different side of myself that neither I nor anyone else in the world was aware of. But she, God, she saw that side and opened it as if it were a Christmas present, she always had craved for, without realizing I had given her this gift as if it were specifically intended for her.

It all began on the first day of college, my first day of independence, and almost adulthood. I was born in Cuba, but my parents wanted to move to United States. My family move to Miami, Florida, when I was just five years old. I was the family's only child at the time. I'm not saying that I now complain about having a younger sister, since we are, in fact, a very friendly and loving family. I know they would always be there for me, and I was sure of that when I came out to them as bisexual . We were never a particularly religious family, but even if we had been, I doubt they would have thrown me out when I came out of the closet as an unnecessary thing. So, yeah, I can trust them and know that they will listen to me and stick with me till the end. If we're talking about my bond with my younger sister Sofi, we're both very close; she loves me just as much as I do, and I'll punch anyone who tries to hurt or embarrass her, I am not someone who gets into trouble, and I sometimes can't even kill an annoying fly or a scary spider, but for her sake, I would.

So, let me bring you back to my first day of college. Since all the people interacting with each other, it is really busy and loud, similar to high school actually. Some are already getting to know one another, and others are making up for missed time with their friends after the summer break. Walking past all these people, I can only see myself talking and sharing stories about my summer with the friends I'll make as a freshman in college. I already have one friend, who also happens to be my roommate, Dinah, who comes from Santa Ana, California. To be honest, she's such an open and funny person, and also really loud. I'm not used to being around loud people because, firstly, I'm a shy person, and secondly, I only have one younger sister, while Dinah's family has like eight children. Can you imagine? She says it's a lot of fun, however, she admits that they annoy her most of the time, but you can't run away from such a large family, however, she still speaks very warmly and lovingly about them, even though she admits to being the happiest person in the world since she's finally moved out of the massive and noisy house where you can't be alone for more than 5 minutes, I know she misses them deeply because any time she calls her family, I see her eyes tear up or just see the sadness in her eyes as they say goodbye. So, yes, she's a pretty little liar, but I can't judge her; I miss my family too, but I've finally realized that it's time for me to fly into my own life.

Remember how I said our story would never be that simple? It all started when I stepped into a huge auditorium with more than 100 students in attendance and sat down in what seemed to be the least visible spot. The professor entered after about 20-25 people had entered after me, and the auditorium was half full of students. He was a middle-aged man, perhaps in his late twenties or thirties, and he seemed to be nice.

- "Good afternoon, students. Congratulations on your first year in college and your first English lesson. My name is Michael Anderson, and I'll be your English Language and Literature professor, you can call me Professor Anderson or Mr.Michael"

My favorite subject in school has always been English, and I love reading books of all kinds. I don't think I'll have any problems with this subject; additionally, the professor seems to be friendly, and I think his classes would be interesting.

- "Every week, I'll normally allocate you to read a part of a textbook or some literature. To be able to engage in class discussions and appreciate the lessons, you will be asked to read the required sources and complete your homework. I'll most certainly administer short tests or quizzes. I will sometimes do "test work " without warning. This assignment has no bearing on your grade; its sole objective is to motivate you to complete the assigned work and attend class. There will normally be a final exam at the end of the semester. Is that clear?" A few silent yeses and nods from students could be heard. Yeah, I am definitely won't have any problems with this course.
