If I'm a diamond, why do I feel so rough?

Sheena sat in her shared dark room, head in between her legs as she feels herself almost breaking under pressure. Her roommates are currently in class, but she's on a leave ticket due to her almost passing out during coach Brunt's class.

The faculty members have told her many times, that she's the diamond student of V.I.L.E academy. But if she's a diamond, then why does she feel so rough? She's supposed to be as strong as stone, but even that's not enough.

She thought that diamonds were hard, though how come she feels like she could break?

Her head was throbbing and for the first time in a while, she let out a drop of tear. One, after another, tears fall onto her face, and a simple drop of tear turned into sobs.

She noticed. She noticed how nobody asked if she was okay when she almost fell unconcious during coach Brunt's class. Was she that bad? Is that why they didn't care, and looked almost happy when she was down? Sheena doesn't know, but she knows that this isn't what she wanted.

But what can she do now anyways? The whole academy hated her to the guts, and wouldn't want anything to do with her unless they're forced to. That was excluding her roommates, of course. They seem to stick around even after how Sheena treated them, and she questions why.

From day one, all she ever did to everyone was insult them, belittle them, make them feel inferior. She thought that was the only way to get people to do what she wants, but she's seen now that that's not true.

She's always wants to change, but of course, nobody would believe her if she said she always wanted to be someone different.

She's been told her whole life what to do and say, so when she got into V.I.L.E academy by lying to her parents that she got accepted into Harvard, the freedom she felt was overwhelming.

She believed now that she's free from her parents, she's allowed to act to everyone like how her parents treated her.

Her vision started blurring again as her head keeps on throbbing, so, she slowly laid herself down on her bed, pulling her blanket up to her shoulders to shelter her from the cold.

She feels lost. She doesn't know what to do. It's as if the ground is sinking beneath her and she's about to fall through. She heard the clock strike 7, signalling dinner time for all the students. But she doesn't feel like going anytime soon.

Is this how she's going to live her life? Hated, and with nobody to catch her when she fall? Nobody to comfort her but herself? The thoughts made Sheena's head hurt, but her heart hurt even more as she curled up on her bed.

'Even now nobody came to see if i was okay...' Sheena thought to herself as tears continue to fall onto her pillow. She thought that she would he used to people not caring by now. It's been like that almost her whole life.

But why does she feel so hurt?

Thoughts clouded her mind as she tried to shut her eyes and go to sleep, but everything she tries to do seems impossible. Too busy with her thoughts and efforts to sleep, Sheena didn't hear the door to the room opening.

"Sheena?" She heard a voice from infront of her. Slowly, she forced her eyes to be open and was greeted by Antonio, Black Sheep, Gray, and Jean-Paul, Antonio holding a tray if food in his hands.

"What are you guys doing here?" Sheena snapped, her tone not very welcoming. 'Why did i do that... ' she internally asked herself after what she just said, immediately shifting her gaze towards her lap.

"We came to check up on you." Black sheep smiled, walking towards her with a smile before sitting besides Sheena on her bed. "We brought some food too because we figured you wouldn't be feeling too well after what we heard happened during coach Brunt's class." Antonio smiled and put the tray of food on the bedside table.

Tears started flowing down her face as she heard Antonio's statement. She wasn't sad, so why was she crying? She's not supposed to be crying. Sheena was confused.

"Sorry..."

That was all Sheena could say. She didn't know what else to say. She suddenly felt so horrible for everything she did to her roommates, to everyone, that all she could say was sorry.

Her roommates noticed how broken she sounded, how her voice cracked just by saying a single word. So they pulled her into a group hug, trying to comfort her at the same time.
"Hey, we're here. It's okay." Gray whispered in Sheena's ear. Somehow, gray's words managed to calm her down, her previously irregular breaths becomes steady as she feels the presence if her rommates.

They were here. They were always here. Even after everything she did, they're still here with her. She doesn't know why, there was literally no reason for them to stick around, but they did.

"Thank you." Sheena softly whispered to them, two words she haven't spoken in a long time.
