In sickness and in health, and forsaking all others?

"Pieck!" Porco said, watching his friend get shot down ten years later, running over to her, despite Renier warning against it. He picked her up and she was bleeding out, her white shirt and green shorts were all red and sticky with blood. Why Renier had warned against it, he didn't know, he was perfectly cape able with his titan form and his speed. "Just hold on Pieck," He said, feeling her grip loosen around his shoulders, he had to stop and fix them so her arms where still around him, "Just hold on a little longer!" He yelled, hoping she heard him. You could hardly see for smoke, it got in your eyes, lungs on your skin and you couldn't kick it out of the way because that would just make it cloud in another direction. It was in Porco's mouth, making it hard to breathe, and even if the taste reminded him slightly of home and the smog, battle smoke was so much worse. It came from guns, which meant there was always the risk of bullets to worry about as well. "Please!" He yelled. "If you can hear me! Help me!"

"Gillard?"

"Renier?" He called back, usually mad at Renier but whatever he could do right now was fine, as long as he didn't get in his way. "Move!"

"No you move!" There was a flash of lightning, and Porco saw the shape of a tent and the shape and glowing eyes of a titan not too far from it, one of the only things able to cut through the smoke. Porco picked up the pace, running the last few feet with what little strength he had left.

Inside the green tent, he had left Pieck on one of the beds whilst he looked through several amounts of medical equipment, looking for bandages, a pack, anything to keep Pieck here and breathing. The shock of it had exhausted Porco, but he couldn't stop. He dug up a towel and a large roll of bandages, lifting up Pieck's shirt to reveal the 5-8 bullet wounds in her stomach area, he didn't count how many, just knew they were half-healed from her regeneration ability, and wiped them down with the towel, clearing the blood, and wrapping the bandages three times around her chest, tightly, to stop the bleeding, but not so much as to crush her ribs. The tent was designed to be bulletproof and soundproof, so it was quiet aside from Porco's heavy breathing. He noticed her shirt was bloody, but didn't remove it, he thought it might be a violation of privacy, so he took one of the blankets on his bed off and lay it over Pieck, covering her entire torso with it, keeping her warm and, well, not exactly safe, but she was warm, at least that was something, right? He noticed her body steaming, so she was alive and focusing on her ability to heal, at 10 she'd be to weak. At 10 shots she would be dead, he couldn't let her get shot 10 times, he wouldn't. Her eyes opened slightly, she turned her head towards him, smiled, extended her hand and missed, knocking a small leather pouch off the side. The pair laughed slightly at Pieck's un-coordination, and Porco bent down to pick up the contents of it. A small photograph of her, him, and the four (then) five-year old candidates, a survival knife that was slipped  down into the handle, and a small half-broken grass ring. "Hey," She mumbled as he picked up the ring, "Be careful with that. Its important."

"A ring of grass?" He questioned, sitting on the bed and placing it on her head, and she laughed. "Stop laughing Pieck, you got shot." Pieck only laughed harder, and then placed a hand on her stomach area, feeling the thick bandages, she looked at Porco. "I, uh, panicked."

"I know." She said. "Thanks. My ability can only get me so far, you know how weak I am. But three layers. Really?" He turned away, embarrassed.

"I panicked." He said again, casting a glance aside at the ring. It was old and brown, delicate and looked like it would snap if Porco pocked it too hard, where was it from? He felt like he recognised it from somewhere, but not quite sure where. Pieck reached up and but it on her ring finger. "Where's it from?"

"What?" She said, looking at him and sitting up. "What do you mean?"

"The ring, where's it from, did the kids make it for you?" He said, his memory massively failing him. "What? Your doing that thing where you look at me but your eyebrow's like, raised." She laughed slightly, and then put her hand around her stomach area again, almost in pain.
