'𝐰as it my fault? why is he retiring?' (y/n)'s brows furrowed as she stared at the newspaper scrunched up in her hands, stained a bit from tears. the colleen slightly trembled at the thought, managing to keep her tough demeanor by holding back her tears.

she groaned angrily, chucking the comic onto the couch and leaving the common room, heading outside and leaving the silent onlookers behind.

izuku and ochako exchanged concerned side glances. "do you think she's okay, uraraka?" midoriya's brows furrowed in an upset manner. the brown-haired girl frowned a bit with a small shrug. "i really don't know, deku... i don't think she is. she's always so upbeat and happy to see everyone..."

momo butted into the conversation. "uraraka has a point. (y/n) has been very quiet and unwilling to participate in group activities lately, she's also been isolating herself in her room very often..." she sighed, quite concerned as well.

kirishima perked up. "hey, bakubro! you should go talk to her!" he looked over at the blonde, whose head shot up. "huh?! why me?! why not you, shitty hair?!" katsuki exclaimed, filled with utter shock that he was completely put on the spot.

"well, duh, because you like he— mmph!" the red-haired boy was cut off by his mouth being covered by bakugo's hand. "whatever, i'll go." the angry pomeranian mumbled, striding off after (y/n).

the lass stared up at the very few swirling clouds in the sky, blinking slowly as she released a sigh. tears threatened to escape her eyes, but she forced them back as she tensed up and released a small, shaky exhale.

the girl suddenly heard footsteps approaching, instantly pivoting on her foot and holding up her hands. "huh?" she blinked a few times, disoriented. the female slowly stood back up, a smile making it's way to her face. "hey, babes! what's up?"

katsuki stared at her, his eyes squinted as she stared back into his ruby red eyes. "something's not alright. tell me what it is." the male spat. the lassie froze, taking a moment to process what bakugo just said.

"huh...?" she muttered, misunderstanding the context. "tell me what the fuck is wrong, damn it! something's wrong and you aren't telling any of us what it is, tic bitch!" the angry blonde yelled, getting a bit impatient.

(y/n) slightly flinched before releasing a sigh and crossing her arms before her head jerked to the side. "is it my fault for all might's retirement?" the female stood there silently before snapping her fingers and smacking her forehead, groaning quietly at the pain.

the lad stood there in silence. "...what." he snarled as he tensed up a bit. "...is it my fault for all might's retirement, blondie?" the girl muttered, blinking back tears as her head jerked again, followed by another snap of her fingers.

the boy was silent for a second before releasing a sigh, approaching (y/n) before hesitantly hugging her, resting his chin on her head. "you really think this is your fault, dumbass?" he questioned with a quiet tone.

the colleen sighed. "yeah, i do. if i hadn't gone after you... if i just thought about the pros coming to help, or even any of our classmates coming to help, i wouldn't have done anything in the first place. i would've done what you wished, but instead i was being fucking impulsive and went after you." she spat with venom in her voice, attempting to hide her trembling.

katsuki remained silent, taking in her response to his question. he wasn't sure what to say since he was bad at showing sympathy for others. "..." the lad suddenly began crying, having no intentions of doing so and completely embarrassing himself.

(y/n) tensed up at the sound of his quiet sobs and hiccups before calming down. "..." she inhaled then exhaled before hesitantly hugging the blonde back, attempting to comfort him. "did i strike a nerve? i didn't mean to.." the girl muttered, a bit guilty.

bakugo exhaled. "i thought this whole thing about all might's retirement was my fault, too." he chuckled slightly at his thoughts, staring at the ground. "i didn't think you felt so horrible, really. if anything, i thought you were happy you saved me.." the blonde muttered.

"no, i am... i'm just disappointed in my actions. i know you would've done fine on your own, but i couldn't bear seeing you get taken right beneath my nose." the girl laughed a bit. "god, i'm so clingy." this suddenly made her a bit insecure, trying to brush it off.

the male sighed, pulling away and staring at her silently. "..." he took in her slightly weakened state before lifting her chin up. "shut up, dumbass." the boy chuckled softly.

"i didn't even say— mmph!" (y/n) was cut off by katsuki's lips connecting with hers, stuck in a state of shock for a brief moment before letting her eyes flutter shut, gently kissing back.

cheers could be heard from afar, causing bakugo and the female to disconnect lips, glancing over at the bakusquad. mina had snapped some photos, running over to show the two. "i got some photos! wanna see?!" she squealed, holding up her phone.

the (h/c)-haired girl nodded profusely, her head jerking to the side as she perked up, noticing there wasn't anything there. "huh? mina, is your phone broken?" she glanced over at her pink-skinned friend, noticing her lips moving, but unable to hear anything.

all of a sudden, exhaustion crashed down quicker than an anvil smacking someone's head in minecraft. her vision darkened before it completely went black.

☁︎

that was when she woke up in a very unfamiliar place. "huh...? am i finally dead? has god answered my prayers, finally?" a small, deep chuckle filled her ears, catching her attention. "no, but i'm way better than god, and definitely everyone else, babe."
