It's been five years. Five years since Thanos came. Five years since The Snap. Five years since half of the universe was dusted away. Planet Earth moved on as best as it could, rebuilding their society around the void left behind from their massive loss. It's empty. The world moves a little slower with half of it gone. In an old storage facility Scott Lang's van and some of his possestion are stored in a square of fencing. A lone rat skitters across the dashboard and over a control panel, stepping on a button that started to glow red. That button activated the quantum realm tunnel in the back of the van that Scott and the Pym's had been working with on that fateful day. A moment later a body is ejected from the machine and his mask opens to reveal, the previously thought to have been Snapped, Scott Lang. Once he's let out he finds the world in it's lessened state. He learns of the events that took place and he instantly looks for his daughter, finding her five years older and in tears at seeing him alive and well.

After a while he makes his way to the Avenger's compound with a half baked idea. When Nat and Steve let him in he spends a bit of time pacing the office muttering to himself. Steve gets his attention and then he explains the quantum realm and how he was stuck there when Hope failed to pull him out due to the Snap. When Nat apologizes and says that it must have been a long five years Scott reveals that it wasn't. For him the five years was five hours. He rambles about the chaos of the quantum realm and how time flows differently, that there was no way to navigate the discord. But what if you could? What if they could navigate it to get to a time before Thanos. It's an idea he can't stop thinking about and the two Avengers find someone they could talk to about it.

Tony Stark. The genius now lives in a cabin away from people with his wife Pepper and their almost five year old Morgan. The three tell him about the idea but he turns it down saying that they wouldn't come home. When Scott says he did Tony writes it off as a million to one cosmic fluke, still denying Scott's so called "Time Heist". He calls it a pipe dream, but Steve and Nat try to say otherwise. Tony is worried about the saftey of the Time Heist and the posibility of messing things more than they are. While he's happy to see his old friends he wishes they were there for anything else. He won't risk his second chance, Morgan.

With Tony out of the question they go to the next big brain. Bruce who is now Dr. Hulk. The scientist had reconciled with his brutish side and had merged with him becoming the best of both worlds. He eventually agrees to help with the project.

That night Tony can't seem to get the idea out of his head. It seemed cemented in his skull when he looked at a picture of him and Peter and then, with the help of Friday, started to run a few model simulatons. A few of them don't pan out and he thinks of one more, giving Friday instructions. He doesn't think it will work but the model runs succesfully and he stumbles in shock.

The next day the Avengers are testing the time travel through Scott's van, but it doesn't go as planned. When Scott goes through he comes back as a child, then an old man, and then a baby. Bruce is able to bring him back to his natural state after a few moments. When Steve went out to take a breather Tony pulls up like a speeding bullet in his car. Tony can already guess that their attempts were not fruitful and he sets some rules. He wants to bring back everyone they lost without sacrificing anything they gained, and maybe not die trying. Tony gives Steve his shield again and then asks about the rest of the team. Rocket and Nebula return to Earth on the Milano, Rhodey landing a few moments after. Bruce and Rocket go on a little scrimmage to retrieve Thor from his new place in New Asgard, a small fishing village the remaining Agardians built for themselves.

After flying on the Milano they have to ride in the bed of an old pickup truck to get to the small village. Residents watch them as they pass through town and are let off when they arrived. "Kind of a step down from the golden palaces and the magic hammers and whatnot." Rocket commented when seeing the humble village.
