AUTHORS NOTE
Hey everyone, first a few housekeeping things. I'll update every two weeks, or earlier if I can manage it, but I'm pretty busy this year. I use UK\NZ spelling of words just as a heads up.
I hope you enjoy it, Ori has one heck of a ride for her and I hope you guys enjoy watching it unfold.
STORY STARTS
I know it was only my imagination, but I could've sworn the entire world was holding its breath. I kept flicking my eyes over to Oscar, before glancing at Aubrey and finally their friend Sam. All three of them sat with ramrod straight backs, a shallow frown on their sculptured faces. Their gazes locked on the milky Orbs in front of them. I played with the ends of my hair, the paleness of my skin making the golden blonde strands shine.
"Can you stop moving around?" Snapped Aubrey and I flickered my eyes to him like a deer in the headlights.
"Aub, relax, she's as nervous as we are," soothed Oscar, ever the peacemaking.
I averted my eyes and stilled. I hadn't even noticed I was rocking my chair, though it shouldn't have surprised me; I can't sit still when I'm nervous. I focused on not moving and threaded my fingers together. The feeling of sliding my thumbs over each other in a continuous motion soothed my racing mind.
"Yea, but we will not tip over the fucking table now and destroy our Crystal Orbs, now are we?" he asked with derision in his tone.
"Don't swear," I admonished, glancing up through my lashes to meet his eyes.
"Now she is telling me not to swear." he snorted, talking as if I wasn't even in the room. I watched as he threaded his hands together behind his head. Before he deigned to reply to me, "Newsflash Oriana, you aren't mum."
"No, I'm not, but there is no need for that kind of language," I said, focusing on the feel of my skin as I twiddled my thumbs.
"Yea Aub, if you read a book for once you might have a more expansive vocabulary" teased Oscar.
I chuckled, watching as his hair flopped into his face as he leant over and gave Aubrey a punch on the shoulder.
"Whatever, I'm surprised you even know what a book is Ozzy," Sam replied. A smirk breaking out on his face as he ran a hand through his dark shaggy hair.
Oscar snorted, his eyes likely gleaming in the familiar way they do when he is facing a challenge. The three of them were so alike in personality. that even though I knew it was impossible I sometimes wondered if the three of them were siblings. I had entered a parallel world, and I only thought I was the sibling? Like an episode of Rick and Morty, but only in my mind? I mentally giggled to myself, shelving that idea to mull over later. The fact we looked alike made up for our differences in personality. I guess my alternate universe theory was implausible. Sigh, back to the drawing board on how to male myself un-related to Aubrey.
The sound of the front door opening woke me up from my musings. I immediately calmed, knowing Aubrey would relax a bit in his taunts with mum present.
"Hello my darlings, how was my favorite triplet's day?" she asked, her tone breezy as she walked over to the table.
"We are, as far as I am aware, your only triplets' mum" Oscar teased, giving mum a hug as she leaned to kiss him.
"Who knows, I might have a whole other family, like that drunken fellow from that show you kids showed me." She said, her pretty hazel eyes twinkling; a mirror image of the boys when they are planning mischief.
