"Pup?" I ask, looking down at him.
"Why did the scary men come here?" he asks, looking up at me.
"I'm not sure, baby." I say, cupping his cheek in my hand as I run my finger over his cheekbone.
"Are they gonna come back?" he says, his brows pinching together with a pout.
"Don't worry about it pup. You are safe with me, promise." I say, kissing the top of his head.
He lets out a soft sigh and nuzzles his face into my chest, hugging me tightly.
I run my hand up and down his back, briefly running them through his hair as my other hand sits by his shoulder.
"Lixie?"
"Yes, Channie?" I smile at him, still running my fingers through his hair.
"Do you have a favorite song?" he asks, keeping his eyes closed.
"I do, why do you ask?" I look down at him.
"I wanted to know. What is it?" he asks, smiling.
"It's called by Song To You. It is by 2 people going by the names Curlybamm and JayyGoinUp."
"How did you find it?"
"I was just listening to a random playlist and it came up." I smile. "It just stuck and it just gets stuck in my mind sometimes.
"Can we listen to it please?" he asks, finally opening his eyes, looking up to me.
"Of course." I reach over on to my nightstand, pulling it up once I unlock my phone.
