Today was the day. Rian and I would finally know the gender of our baby. We were ready to start decorating and buying everything that our baby needed.
We had brought gender-neutral colors of baby necessaries when we first found out I was pregnant as we didn't know what gender the baby was going to be.
So, today was very important.
Rian was practically bouncing with excitement when the doctor told him that I was far along enough for him to make out the gender of the baby.
I was the most excited during my pregnancy at this stage, while I was more content knowing that a baby was growing inside me.
I was lying on the hospital bed as the doctor performed the ultrasound. Rian stood beside me, holding my hand.
"This little one is very stubborn," The doctor said as the baby kept moving and made it difficult to see if it was a boy or girl.
"Just like their mother," Rian said with a chuckle.
I looked up at him and stuck out my tongue.
"Finally," The doctor said as she finally caught a good look at the baby.
"So?" Rian asked giddily.
The doctor smiled.
"Congratulations, Your Majesties, you're having a girl!" The doctor answered.
I nodded to keep myself from crying.
I couldn't believe we were having a girl.
Rian asked the doctor if everything was okay with our little girl, and the doctor confirmed that our baby girl was perfectly healthy before making her leave.
Rian looked at me as I sat up and pulled my shirt down.
