Klaus woke up at exactly 8:30am to his alarm. He snatched his phone off the counter and hit snooze: he had suffered serious injuries the previous night and wasn't ready to get up yet. His body still felt awfully sore. After another half hour of sleep, he was awoken yet again to the sound of someone knocking at his door.

He groaned. "Ugh, fine, enter!" He grumbled. The door swung open to reveal Hayley.

"Marcel is searching around the city for you, he also asked Elijah about you." Hayley said.

"Tell him I'm sick right now," Klaus replied.

"The big bad hybrid can't be sick. I know it hurts, but this is all part of the plan and you are the most useful person right now." Hayley said to him.

"Ugh. Just please, I can't do this today, I can barely get up." Klaus responded. Hayley sighed and sat down on the bed next to him.

"You haven't mentioned your injuries at all, we just found you in the front of the mansion after a full day of not seeing you. Injured. Nearly dead." Hayley said.

"And so what?" Klaus muttered. "If you don't tell us your injuries, we can't properly heal you. We only know you're seriously hurt. We tried our best in fixing you, and it's not exactly successful." Hayley explained thoroughly.

"My genetically modified cells are already healing my body." Klaus grumbled. Hayley stared at the ground and picked at her nails.

"Well, we didn't want to tell you this today, we thought that it would change later but since you brought it up.. well... your cells aren't healing themselves anymore, unfortunately." Hayley explained quickly, not looking at Klaus.

"Oh.." Klaus said softly, surprisingly calm about it. Hayley glanced at him. "You're not.. mad or anything?" Hayley questioned.

"Oh, I am livid about the matter, but I'm calm about it because.. well.. because you're here.." Klaus blurted out, unaware of what he had just said.

Hayley stared at him for a moment, surprised. But then she hugged him tightly, and Klaus hugged her back.

"You can have today off."
