The train rushes pass me, blowing some of my school transfer papers down the street. I don't want to risk waiting.
I run alongside the rails, feeling satisfied with the sound of crunching rocks under my feet. I scooped up my papers littering the ground, and kept running.
It seemed that everytime my breath got faster, the engine of the train would creak and speed up. I whooped in approval.
The sky was lit with a fiery sun, the clouds were out of sight, and the transition between the violet mountains and the sky stood out more than anticipated. The breeze was light, and frost dusted the whole area.
My lungs were burning for air now, my heart seemed to want to leap from my chest. I slowed down, giving a last whoop of satisfaction.
The train cars passed, graffiti took up most the space, giving me something else to look at. The large bubbly handwriting caught my eye.
"THE WORLD IS HATE, THOUGH ALSO LOVE, LIVE IT." I read aloud. What simple words. I brushed my dark hair from my face.
The train passed, leaving me staring at blue eyes. The same eyes staring right back at me. It took me a second to realize she was about as out of breath as me. She grinned, so I grinned back.
"Are these one of your papers?" Her voice was silky and sweet.
