Laney....

The noise brought us back to reality from the fantasy we were in. We heard the voice even before we saw her.

"OH MY GOD! Did you both............ really just.......kiss?" My eyes landed on Alissa who was standing at the far end of the  shelf with her mouth hanging open. Her eyes were darting back and forth from me to David in confusion but the excitement in her eyes was unmistakable. This was only the start, I'm sure, she has tons of questions running around in that small brain of hers.

I felt more hot than I felt a minute before, probably, because of the raising embarrassment. I was trying to breath properly as I felt my breathing get uneven. My heart was thundering loudly inside my rib. I thought to myself whether everyone felt this way after there first kiss. I can feel myself turning red by the rising temperature of my body. And was very sure, I would be looking like a tomato by now.

As I was controlling my uneven breath, I felt David stand and leave without a word. I opened my eyes to stop him but he was gone even before I opened them. As if, the kiss we shared meant nothing to him. Or am I over-reacting and putting too much meaning into it.

God! Just kill me already. It's so embarrassing. I want to deny everything but my heart is too excited to deny a thing. Denying won't even work, even if I tried, as Alissa had become the prime witness to it.

"What? Did he just leave without a word? Wow! What a jerk." I jumped at her sudden outburst and could feel my heart thundering loudly in fear. she was fuming in anger and was ready to rip apart whoever dared to cross her path.

shouldn't I be the one, fuming like her? I wanted to but was not able to.

"Tell something." She said irritated and confused at my quite response which made me jump again.

"Can you please, stop shouting out of the blue and scaring me to death? I can hear alright. You can speak normally instead of shouting and scaring me." She was looking at me as if awestruck by my response.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked even though I knew the answer to it.

"Don't you have anything to say? He just left like that without even a goodbye to you." I wasn't sure of what has gotten into her but was sure, she was probably going through a menopause.

I sighed and replied with a bored expression "So what? Do I have to cry and make a scene here?"

"SO WHAT?" She thundered after me which made me cower back in fear. Is she possessed by some ghost girl who was rejected as badly as I was? I wanted to calm her down so I added "It was not that big of a deal I can't handle."

"OH REALLY!" She thundered again making me shiver in fear and turned back. Don't know if to calm herself down or to find something to break my head. But I hoped for the first one.

To my surprise, she laughed out loudly. And  as her laughter began to grow louder, I became sure of my thoughts earlier of her being possessed. But her next words were not the one a possessed one would say.

"You are so funny sometimes, Laney. I can't believe, you took it seriously that means I'm not that bad of an actor and would do good in that field, don't you think?" And this time, my mouth was the one hanging open in shock of what she had pulled off.

"You know what I think-"

"What?" She said smiling big as if I was going to give her an award for her acting.

"I think, you need a good kick on that taut ass of yours, you bitch, you literally scared me to death. At some point, I thought you were possessed or something." I said in horror.
