"..11:59," Damien said. "Let's continue with the last few instructions then..." She said. "...Step five, at the stroke of midnight, knock on your front door twenty-two times. You must finish knocking before the clock moves to 12:01 AM," She said. "It's 12:00," Damien looked up and knocked. "One... Two... Three..." He said. "...Step six, open the front door and blow out the candles once you finish knocking," She read. "Seven... Eight... Nine..." Damien continued to count as he knocked. They all waited patiently, somewhat scared about what may come next. "Nineteen... Twenty... Twenty two," He finished, opened up the door right as the others blew out their candles. "...Step seven, close the door again and immediately relight the candle," Morghan finished. Damien closed the door and they relit their candles immediately. "And thus, we have just invited The Midnight Man into this home." Morghan said as she picked up her candle. Hannah dropped her salt shaker without noticing. "I'm going to stay close to you, Thaddeus, okay..?" Kate asked. Thaddeus nodded as he wrapped his arm around Kate. They split up, first group was Kate, Thaddeus, Dru, and Damien, then the second group consisting of Hannah, Morghan, and Ellie. Thaddeus held his candle up high to get a better view of his surroundings, he held onto Kate tightly, ensuring her safety as they slowly walked. Damien was walking ahead of them, guiding his candle to direct light towards every dusty object they came across. Dru was behind Thaddeus and Kate, trying to keep an eye on things from behind them. Damien's candle blew out, Kate stopped walking as soon as it did. He quickly grabbed his lighter and lit it again. "He must be..." Thaddeus stopped, his eyes widened as he pointed towards the corner ahead. Dru looked at the corner, his eyes widened in shock. "Run..." Thaddeus said. Kate stared at the tall, black figure, gazing deep into where his eyes should be. "Kate?!!" Thaddeus gasped. He picked her up and started running away quickly, suddenly both of their candles went out. "Shit, I must have ran so fast they blew out!" Thaddeus said and put Kate down, quickly relighting both of their candles. "T...That thing..." Kate whispered in shock. Meanwhile, Damien started running with Dru staying behind him. "Thaddeus?! Kate?!" Damien whispered. "We have got to get away from The Midnight Man..." He said to Dru. "Run, Damien," A mysterious voice whispered in his ear. Damien, shocked, turned his head. "W-What the hell?! Did you hear that?!" He asked and turned to see Dru not there, his candle suddenly went out.
