The air sat stale and stagnant. The sky cracked and boomed with the rhythm of his soul. The people of Paris had gone about their life while he ran to the nearest forest opening. Adrien had tears bouncing in his electric green eyes. He couldn't believe who sat unmoving in his arms, who left him. He had so many questions haunting him. Hawkmoth had gone too far this time, but yet he couldn't help feel the anger crash into him like a tidal wave at the bluenette that he cradled to his chest.

He raised his gloved hand to her stone cold face and wiped the phantom tears that had came down her porcelain skin. The pain she had felt was immense and even though Marinette wasn't completely gone yet, her life-force was weak. She couldn't breath, move, or even twitch. She was as good as gone. She gathered all her strength, mustered all her courage and said the words that haunted her since she had met the blonde headed black cat. Her eyes were screwed shut in pain. The Black Cat that sat holding her had finally heard the last beep and de-transformed.

"I love you, Chat." No. His eyes opened wide. Marinette loved him as Chat. Ladybug loved him.

"No!" He screamed a glass shattering scream as her body finally lay completely still. Her chest that once gave shallow gasps, gave way to the silence. He knew Marinette loved him as Adrien, her crush had been so obvious. He never indulged in it because his love for Ladybug was greater. She loved him inside and outside of the suit. She never knew Adrien to love her, only Chat.

It crushed him. Why, Why me! Why didn't you just tell me Ladybug! Why do you always leave me in the aftermath to deal by myself! He had so many questions. He was so mad at Marinette. Why did she insist that they never know each others identities? He now lost his best friend and the love of his life. The disappointment crushed him, his father had once again taken the only thing that brought him happiness. And for what? His mother? He loved his mother, but he had said goodbye to her a long time ago. And what was the price, his love? The consequences were too great. Was he the boy Ladybug rejected him for? Fuck, Marinette!

The girl he loved so deeply kept something enveloped in her hands. Carefully as to not disturb her, he pried her hands open. He almost laughed. She always came through. His Lady always came through. He took the blooded broach out of her tiny hands and gave a watery smile. Hawkmoth was defeated, taken down by Ladybug. At the expense of her life. He wanted to stay here, brushing her silky blue hair. In here she wasn't gone. As soon as he dragged her out and to a hospital it was real. He was selfish, He knew it. With a sad huff, he picked up the battered beauty and trudged to the nearest hospital.

Walking into the sterile building Chat had felt the weight get heavier. Marinette didn't deserve this. The bodies busied around him, no one noticing the crest fallen super hero. "Help her..." he whispered, bottom lip quivering. Once more he wen't unnoticed. His anger rose to the surface.

"Can one of you please stop what the fuck you're doing and help her!" He screamed. All the sudden the room came to a halt. Every eye was now on him, doctors grabbing his Lady and rolling her away. He watched as they took her into the OR and he knew that that was it. He knew in a few minutes they would declare time of death. He knew they would declare Marinette dead and her parents would rush here and they would tell them that their only daughter was dead. But there was one thing he held, the one thing they would never know.

That when Marinette died, that was the death of Ladybug.
