Logan was curious, maybe a bit too much so.
Recently Virgil had been acting differently towards Roman, it had been completely unprompted and that left Logan confused.
For three years, it made Logan feel old to think of the time, the two of them always seemed to bicker, to argue and give out sarcastic and mean spirited remarks, but now here Logan was.
With Roman's twin brother Remus and Roman's best friend Janus, the three of them trying to get into Roman's very well secured diary.
The thing was made of freaking metal, with actual locks on it!
Logan was originally dubious on breaking into Roman's diary, it was after all an invasion of privacy, but Janus and Remus were surprisingly fine with it, even somewhat excited by the idea of sneaking into Roman's room to steal a diary while he was in art club, probably arguing with Virgil.
Logan learned quite a bit about the type of people Roman had a tendency of surrounding himself with, dramatic people with a sense of sarcastic humour.
It was only a second long, but the idea that Roman and Virgil could theoretically get along was quite interesting, but as soon as it had come, the idea was gone.
Eventually Remus was able to open the lock, afterwards giving Janus the Bobby pin he had used.
Logan quickly opened it, very curious on what kind of things could be in the book, he of course avoided anything that didn't mention Virgil, skimming for Virgil's name.
He had seen names of different classmates dotted on different pages, sometimes little colourful sticky notes neatly placed as reminders for him.
From what Logan had subconsciously picked up while scanning for certain words and Virgil's name, Roman didn't really shit-talk anyone, all that was in there was what happened, or some bit of information he learned, his first page was one of everyone's birthdays, well it was all the ones he knew, some names with blank spaces next to them.
They were all ordered by time of the year. It was a plastic page Whitchurch had small places you could slip in pieces of paper with a name and birthday, so it was changeable.
Logan of course had checked it for Virgil's birthday, the two had never spoken of birthdays before as far as Logan knew, but Virgil's birthday was there, a second piece of paper slipped underneath it, but they were stuffed too tightly in, so Logan didn't try see the second paper underneath as he worried that either Roman would notice or that he'd accidentally rip the paper.
To some avail Logan found Virgil's name mentioned only on 3 pages, all of which discussed either pranks to pull on him or some strangely specific note reminder to ask him something, but Janus figured that it would've been the few times the two had been paired together for class projects.
"Okay, Roman's probably on his way here now, so I suggest you guys leave, it's a little strange if you two are here for no reason." Remus said, those words were the only normal- sane words he'd said.
Logan and Janus left together, bonding a little, slightly moving from the 'acquaintances' part of their rapidly approaching friendship to decent friends.

"What kept you waiting Janus?" Roman asked as he stood outside, waiting, on Patton's porch.
"Sorry! My mom tried to make pancakes, and she's not... she's not the person you wanna go to for food."
"Ooo, did she burn them?" Remus asked, his presence alone radiated chaos.
"Yeah, she tried making them because dad had to start his shift early." Janus explained, eating a double stuffed Oreo he had pulled out of the packet before putting them away.
