It was Wednesday morning, and Roman had cramps, perfect timing to have Gym in the morning.
He got a pad and tried to go on with his day, his lower back ached a lot, and there was nothing he could really do about it.
He got a glass of water with his breakfast, he would usually have coffee when he was as tired as he was, but it really wouldn't help the pain.
He wore the coziest clothes he could possibly wear, a big comfy sweater and track pants.
Carrying his backpack to school was absolute hell, but he made it to school, in which he went to Virgil's class, parting away from Remus and Janus.
When he couldn't see Virgil in his class, Roman headed to the drama hall, where he was almost certain he'd be.
And there Virgil was, painting the forest scene.
Roman waited until Virgil put the paint brush down, he didn't want Virgil to be surprised and then accidentally ruin something he had done.
"Hey Virge"
"Oh! Hi Roman, how are you?" Virgil asked as Roman walked to him.
"Awful, what about you?"
"I'm okay, why are you feeling awful?" Virgil asked.
"Guess who's bleeding?" Roman said, a sarcastic tone of voice present.
"That's shit, we have PE second class don't we? That's shit timing."
"Virgil, no time is a 'good time' to have a period."
"I know, sorry. Okay, on a scale of 1 to 10 how much does it hurt?"
"Depends on what 1 and 10 are."
"1 is like no pain, 5 is repetitive stabby stabby time, 10 is a chainsaw" Virgil explained.
"It's a 4 then, not too stabby."
"Did you have coffee today?"
"No I didn't, and I drank water, and I ate breakfast."
"Good, tell me if it gets really bad, okay? Fuck, why's Mother Nature need to be such a bitch?" Virgil asking the second question to no one in particular.
"Why're you complaining?"
"I'm voicing your thoughts for you cause you keep smiling and shit, and that shouldn't be you're response to pain, you should vent more you know?"
"I'll try Virgil, anyway, how is your 'painting' coming along? It looks pretty." Roman said, a smile still on his face, he wrapped himself around Virgil, who was quite warm.
"I'm just doing a few details, like the stems and like dew and bugs." Virgil said, "I'm not you can see it properly, but right there are some ladybugs." Virgil pointed at a few of the spotted bugs, Roman could roughly see them from a distance, the colours kind of blending for him, the colourblind struggle, they were very detailed.
"I'm sure they're very colourful, they're really well done Virge." Roman said, laying his head on Virgil's shoulder.
"Do you wanna stay here Ro? I can put some music for you."
"Yeah, that'd be nice Virgie." Roman said, getting off of Virgil so that he could put some music on, the background was massive, and clearly Virgil had already done the top area, as he could see raindrops on the higher leaves.
When Virgil put the sweet music on and went back to painting, Roman went back to cuddling him.
"Roman, I just want you to know that you aren't stopping me from painting or making me uncomfortable, okay?" Virgil said, Roman loved him for it, Virgil always told him what he thought, it was nice to see that someone cared about his concerns.
