𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐇𝐈𝐌, her hair bouncing lightly with her large strides, and her eyes set ahead of her with a fierce determination. She looked so sure, and Hawkins briefly wondered how that was possible when she lacked the definitive knowledge that his cards provided him alone.
He tore his gaze from her slowly vanishing figure, and intentionally entertained the idea of challenging her to a battle. He had no greater motive; simply put, her would fight her if he knew he could win. Yet, as he glanced down at his card, looking for the probability of his triumph in a fight with the ex-marine, he was greeted with a large, glaring zero.
He would not be able to win against Ito Aki.
The possibility of her winning in a fight between them was a remarkable 100 percent.
He chooses to believe himself indifferent about the revelation and then he tucks the card back into its respective place. Yet, his increased heartbeat was more difficult to dismiss.

In the prequel to DECEPTIVE; REGRETFUL, we find out that Aki is actually an ex-marine soldier. It was during her time as a marine that she met and got to know Mihawk, as well as a plethora of other interesting characters - and that is one of the few things she is grateful to the marines for giving her.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: And that was the first official chapter of DECEPTIVE (the remake of Supposed Enemy)! How did you like it? As you can tell chapters will be pretty short, at least for the first few sub arcs - maybe until we catch up with the after-time-skip arc. This chapter is a bit vague, but for the few following sub-arcs, I'm mainly going to stick to this flowy, choppy kind of writing style, tell me what you think. Is it too confusing? Do you like it?
