Sabrina laid out sprawled on her king-sized bed. Her limbs stretched out to either side, they weren't long enough to fully hang off the bed though. Her eyes wandered over to her boyfriend, Joshua Basset, most people just called him Josh. She watched him stare intently out of the window as if he was waiting for Olivia to drive by. She furrowed her brows and shot up from her bed in a sitting position. "Why?! Why do you keep looking out for her! She's the reason I'm getting death threats! Do you even care?!"
Josh jumped at Sabrina's sudden outburst, "I...I wasn't-" He spoke, stuttering a bit before getting interrupted by Sabrina. "Do you think I'm dumb? Even when I'm at your house you stare out the window, watching her car drive down the street." She said, her hand clutching the sheets of her bed which were tightly placed on. She lowered her head down to face her lap, her blonde hair with slight ombre roots covered her face.
She sniffled as her eyes started to slowly rain a shower of tears down onto her cheeks. Josh gasped silently as he quickly left from the comfort of her open window, he sat down next to her on the large bed. He instantly grabbed her gently and embraced her while rocking them both. The male tilted his head up so he could kiss her on her temple.
After a few seconds, Sabrina finally spoke again. "You still write songs for her..." She spoke as she slowly pulled out of his embrace. "I'm so stupid, I should've seen this coming, from the lyrics you wrote her..." She said as she continued to get up from the bed and walk over to the window Josh was recently sitting next to. Josh's face contorted into one of shock and guilt, now he had tears falling slowly from his eyes as he put his hand on his other wrist and firmly gripped it.
"So what am I to you? Just a rebound?!" Sabrina asked, pleading for an answer. She had whipped around from the window, now facing Josh. Josh jumped slightly and was about to stand up to go comfort her again but he stayed sitting down. "N-no, Sabrina, I love you! I do! I just..." Josh stopped himself from saying something, he looked don't the floor. Sabrina stared at him in confusion, wanting him to say whatever he had to already.
Josh exhaled sharply and then took a sharp inhale, he bit his lower lip as he looking back at Sabrina. "I think we should take a break." He finally spoke, looking as if he let an anvil off of his chest. Sabrina's eyes widened, her face stuck in a state of shock and despair.
"What?-" Josh interrupted her, standing up and putting his hands on both her shoulders gently. Putting their foreheads together. "Look I don't wanna break up, but we should take a break from each other until this whole thing blows off...I'm sorry. You should get some sleep." He said, letting go of the shorter girl.
He continued to grab his phone and leave her room, Sabrina had to fight herself mentally from running up to him and latching onto him desperately. He started walking down the halls and soon leaving Sabrina's abode. Once she heard her front door close she immediately ran out of her room, sliding on the carpet and almost tripping over furniture. Once she made it to the front door she opened it with a shaking hand.
She watched him enter his car, turning the keys and starting the ignition. He was adjusting his front mirrors and side mirrors, he refrained from adjusting his rear-view mirror once he saw Sabrina. They both stared at each other for a second as they locked eyes. Josh was the first to break the eye contact, he continued adjusting the mirror. He sat in his car for a mother few seconds before driving alone down and past her street.
Sabrina jumped out from the doorway and onto the porch to watch his car disappear into the dark, foggy, raining horizon. She slowly walked into the middle of the street, barefoot, in only Josh's shirt which was too big for her. She slowly looked down at her hands and gripped the Nirvana band shirt, turning around and entering her home.
She was dripping from head to toe in rainwater, it was pouring out there. Yet the sound of harsh rain made her relax for some reason. She closed the door behind her, locking it. Sabrina walked through the halls and up the stairs to her bathroom, she ran the bath and waited silently.
The minutes felt like hours, she looked over to her bathtub and saw that the water was at a perfect level. She turned the knobs counter-clockwise, turning off the water faucet. She stood up from the ottoman and took off the shirt, and underwear, laying them down on the furniture. She stepped into the bathtub, one leg at a time.
She sighed out in relief and pleasure as she sank her body into the hot water. She slunk down as she leaned against the tub wall. Sabrina yawned as she continued to fall asleep, knowing she wasn't in any danger because her mother would throw a fit if she caught her sleeping in the tub. Her mother was kind of a worrier, like the time she wouldn't let her have a trampoline because she could mess up her spine. Which was a big deal since she was a chiropractor. But despite all of that Sabrina still loved her mother because she knew she was only trying to make sure she wouldn't get hurt.
20 minutes or so went by of Sabrina moping in her bathtub over Josh. She was feeling a little better about the situation after 15 minutes but not enough to where she was over the situation.
Her eyes shot open as she heard her phone beep from a notification. From what she could make out it was a text notification. She groaned in annoyance as she reached over to the ottoman and grabbed her phone, she unlocked it and clicked on the text notification which made a shortcut to the message app.
It was from an unknown number.
