Prussia was in his castle office looking over his maps of the Austrian Empire, he was planing out the next battle when a knock came from his door.

The German king grumbled irritably, "I told my guards I was not to be disturbed."

"Father, it's me, I have some information that I think you need to hear." a voice said.

Prussia looked up from his map and smiled, "Ah, Deutsche, come in."

The door opened and in walked a wingless country, he was around his early thirties and had a flag of black, white, and red stripes.  The country walked up to his father's desk and knelt down on one knee.

"Thou may rise," Prussia said, Deutsche complied and straightened, placing his hands behind his back, "tell me, my son, what information was so important that my battle planning had to be interrupted?"

"Forgive me, Father, I did not intend to interrupt you but I felt this was very important for you to hear," Deutsche said, "I have just received information that King Mandoria is stepping down from his throne."

The room grew extremely silent as those words hung in the air, Prussia had a look of confusion, disbelief, and shock plastered on his face.  After a minute more of quiet, Prussia regained his voice and asked, "care to elaborate, my son?"

The German prince nodded, "my plants within the kingdom of Mandoria clam that King Mandoria announced a week ago that he was retiring, and he declared his second-born son, Prince Mandara, was going to take over the kingdom in his place."

Prussia hummed with increasing interest, "his second-born you say, why would he choose the little runt over the one who actually had potential?"

"I do not know, my plants stated that the king would not answer their questions, only that he announced Prince Mandara's coronation is in three weeks from now," Deutsche answered.

Prussia hummed again and walked over to his window to look out of it.  He stood there deep in thought for a long time, without turning he asked, "the runt's coronation is in three weeks you say?"

"Affirmative father"

"Good, that will give us enough time to gather some troops and challenge Mandoria before that can happen."

"But Father, is that really a priority right now?"

Prussia stiffened, Deutsche noticed his father's wings were beginning to bristle and he realized the mistake he made, he tried to reiterate himself, "I-I mean, w-with AE claiming back the territories that we have taken, w-wouldn't it be smarter to focus on this war than start another one?"

An audible growl could be heard coming from Prussia, which made his son flinch, the winged German turned around and slowly walked over to Deutsche.  The prince was shaking in fear and closed his eyes in preparation for what's to come.

He was knocked to the floor from the punch.

Deutsche's head was throbbing from the two hits and everything was spinning.  With tears in his eyes, he glanced up at his father, whose own eyes were ablaze with fury.  Prussia's fist had a little bit of blood on it from catching his son's mouth, which Deutsche spit out the rest of the blood.

"F-father..." the German prince murmured fearfully.

"Don't look at me like that," Prussia spat, "you brought this on yourself for questioning my orders, be grateful that I don't throw you in the dungeon, you pathetic excuse of a son."

With that insult, Prussia stormed out of his office and left Deutsche to wallow in his pain.  Deutsche continued to lay on the floor, he tried to hold in his tears but failed, ultimately giving up and let them puddle underneath his head, which was still hurting.

"W-why," he muttered, "why was I cursed with such a father, what did I do to deserve this hell."

As he continued to cry, he thought about the Mandorian brothers and their relationship with their father, it made him jealous of how lucky they were.  He then thought about his father's hatred towards Mandoria, if he was challenging him then the Mandorian king had a slim chance of surviving, let alone winning.

"I can't let that happen," Deutsche said, despite his jealousness, he didn't want Mandara and Derogan to lose the one thing he always wanted.  With this change in alliances, the German prince slowly picked himself off the ground and stumbled out of his father's office, determined to warn the Mandorians.
