Phoenix

prologue

It was the dead of night, and as he walked through the night, feeling fulfilled after he had forced a woman to lay with him, and he was content, knowing that he would not be punished. He had decided to take the long way to the tavern where he had rented a room to stay for the night before he headed back to the capital to report for his Knighthood Ceremony. He heard nothing, but when he was a short few miles from the tavern, he was  thrown to the ground.
"Who goes there?! Stop what your doing and show yourself you coward!" He yelled, pulling out his sword. A cold, unfeeling laugh came, chilling him to the bone. This was the laugh of someone who he could not see, but knew all at once was going to kill him.
"A coward, you call me? I believe it is you-" his sword hand was suddenly shot with an arrow, causing his hand to let go of his sword, the abandoned sword falling heavily to the ground. He realized that the voice seemed to belong to a woman. "You, who is a true coward, for forcing a woman to force your needs on her."
"Edric! Are you there?!" A man's voice called, drawing in closer. Edric shouted for the man to come and save him. the new man stepped in close to Edric, not seeing what has scared him so bad. Edric explains to this new man what happened, and a new arrow appears between Edric's feet.
"After you forced that woman, she told me, and I came to kill you. You there, I dont know you, therefore I have no Ill will to you. However, please bear this message to any man who thinks he can make women do what they wish with no consequences: Phoenix has arisen anew from the ashes, and she will not be content with the way women are being treated today. She has come," at the end of the last word, an arrow is shot, going through Edric's throat.
The body thumps to the ground, and what the new man didn't see, as he was attempting to pick up Edric's body to take back to the tavern, was a small body rise up from about a hundred yards away, walking into the darkness.
