Chapter 1
Lauren's POV
The fresh morning breeze brushed my bare shoulders, making me shiver. I'm heading to- actually I dont really know where but I'm looking for a job. Lily, my little sister is turning 5 next week plus we're running out of money.
I was scanning each store that I passed through, hoping there would be an available job but unfortunately, there wasn't any. I was starting to lose hope when my phone buzzled, making me jump a tad bit. It was my blonde best friend, Jessica.
"What do you want?" I said in a cold tone. I'm so not in the mood right now. I mean, c'mon who would be in this situation?
"Why hello to you too, Lauren." She said in a very sarcastic way.
"Haha very funny but seriously what do you want? You know I'm looking for a job right now." I said, obviously annoyed.
I ran a hand through my straight brown hair that almost reached my waist. Oh boy, I need a haircut. "Lemme guess, no luck?" she said enthusiastically. What is wrong with this girl? I mean, why would she act like this? Something's up. I can feel it.
"Well thank you for stating the obvious." I replied while I scanned for more stores nearby.
"Whatever but guess what? I found a new job for you. Plus it involves photography! And you're working with me, that is, if you would get your lazy arse over here and apply with me!" She practically yelled over the phone. I swear, that girl doesn't have any shame. She is mental.
"Really?! You are the best of best friend ever! I'll be there in a bit. Wait, where are you?" I asked eagerly. Finally! I wonder what job would it be? And it involves photography! I love photography. I spent my spare time taking pictures of some beautiful sceneries.
Anyways, Jessica told me to go to a cafe near the building where we'll apply then hung up. I spotted a cab and went for it. Gosh, I rarely have any money left. I gave the driver the address then off we go. The trip there was boring so, I turned my gaze over the window and enjoyed the sceneries of London. After a short while, I found myself drifting off to sleep.

"But It's not fair! All of my friends are going!" I yelled at my parents. They wouldn't let me go to a party and all of my friends are going. This is the first time I yelled at my parents which surprised my mom and dad, and even me.
My mom let out a sigh. "Honey, you know we're just thinking of your own safety," She said calmly while she was sitting in the couch, playing with Lily's straight brown hair who was sleeping in her lap.
"No mom! You are making my life miserable!" I snapped at her. I saw a glimpse of hurt and shock in her eyes. I didn't wonder why. It was the first time I did this. I never yelled at my parents.
"Lauren, go to your room, now." My dad said sternly, obviously mad at me. Who wouldn't be?
I ran upstairs to my room, tears flowing in my cheeks. I slammed the door shut and jumped to my bed. I cried and cried until no more tears came out of my hazel eyes.
But then I was so stupid, I went to my closet and changed into some party clothes and applied light make up then escaped. Yes, I damn escaped through my window. My room is not really that high so I managed to escape with a rope. Where I got it? That's another story.
Anyways, I succeeded in getting out of our house without my parents noticing. I went to my friend's party and of course, enjoyed. I was half drunk. It was the first time I drunk alcohol and I was in the age of 16. Hey, I was a good girl back then. Little did I know that I would end up regretting it forever.
I was dancing with some friends when my phone buzzled. I excused myself and went to an empty corner of the room.
I answered it not bothering to look at the caller's ID, it was my mom."Lauren, Where are you?! I told you not to go to that party!" My mom yelled over the phone, making me jump.
"We're coming over to get you.Wait for us outside, we're halfway there." She instructed me before hanging up, her voice was telling me she was pissed and disappointed. I felt a pang of guilt so I went outside and waited for them.
I was waiting outside when I spotted our car parking across from where I was sitting. My dad and mom went out of the car and crossed the street, but there was a very fast approaching car. It was speeding it's way over them.
"Mom! Dad! Look out!" I yelled at them but it was too late. And before I knew it, they were there, lying with bloods flowing out of their body. I was frozen, tears was flowing out of my eyes like a river. They were gone. And it's all because of me.
People were making it's way over my parents. I was still frozen in my place that's when I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder, It was Jessica. We barely know each other back then, but I hugged her anyways. I cried and cried, she was there, comforting me.
"Shhh... Your parents need you there. Now c'mon." She said softly. I nodded and we went over to the crowd.
I was shaking so bad. It was all my fault. Some paramedics were carrying them to the ambulance. They were covered in blood. I looked at my dad, he was not moving. Not even one bit. He's whole body was full of blood. Tears were racing through my cheeks, he's- he's gone.
I swallowed hard as I looked at my mom, she was still breathing and her eyes were slightly open. I made my way near her and grabbed her hand. I felt a gentle squeeze, letting me know she was still alive.
I looked at her, tears were flowing out of my eyes. She was suffering and it's all because of me. "L-Lauren..." mom said, almost whispering.
"Mom... I'm sorry. It's all my fault. I should have listen to you." I hardly manage to say, my hands were trembling.
"Shhh... No.. It's- It's not your fault, sweetie. Now, L-listen... Promise me you'll take care of Lily. Okay?" Her voice was shaking. I saw how she was struggling every word she spoke.
"I promise, mom but please dont leave us. Please, dont." I begged her but she just closed her eyes and smiled,"Goodbye, Lauren" She whispered. My eyes widened, "NO! NO! Mom!"
**
"NO!" I opened my eyes. It was not just a nightmare, more like a flashback 2 and a half years from now.
I was breathing heavily when I noticed I was still in the cab and the driver was looking at me through the rear mirror.
"Are you okay, ma'am?" He said in a deep voice. I nodded as I looked through the window, we stopped outside a cozy-looking cafe and there was a huge crowd of girls?-and er some boys- Fangirling? Maybe some celebrities went for some coffee this morning. I payed the driver and went out of the cab.
Going through this screaming crowd was tougher than I thought. I mean, whenever I tempted to get to the doors of the cafe, I would receive some glares from some of the girls.
This is so not working, I better call Jessica. "Hey, Jessica. Where are you? I'm here outside the cafe. I couldn't pass through these stupid screaming fangirls." Whoah. Few girls were glaring at me. Uh-oh.
"Just stay there. I'm coming." She said before she hung up.
A few moments later, she was there, looking fabulous as always. And she was breathing heavily. I sent her a 'What happened?' look. She seems to get it cause she replied, "Stupid fangirls", earning a laugh from me and a few glares from the girls who were infront us.
