"Pain, all I feel is pain."
"Alright drama king, pack it up and receive some more."
"is this the punishment for sleeping through two games?"
"What do you think?"
It wasn't too late, only after dinner, when the players were free to do whatever they pleased
"Maybe I should get that ace guy here, you'd have fun receiving from him." Katsuki made a remark about Fukurodani's ace, still salty that he had to get every single shot that went through, which was only during straight shots.
But Tsubasa wasn't having it. He was still tired, and he wasn't about to let his comfort be ruined by being sore the next day
"Nah, I'm done." The male said, turning to walk out of the gym for the night.
"Why you..." Shion Katsuki was about to make him come back, when he was stopped
"You've been harder on him lately." Kaoru Tsu said "I know, I'm worried as much as you for him, but I think he's safe with himself. He knows when to quit."
"He quits too early is the problem!" Katsuki complained "I'm just trying to make sure he doesn't bail on us again!"
"He wouldn't, I know that much." Tsu replied softly "Despite how he may act sometimes, it's just one of those days."
"It's always 'one of those days', Tsu-Senpai." Katsuki sighed "When's he actually going to see that we aren't like we were?"
"It's the libero's job to make sure the ball doesn't touch the ground." Tsu said "Tsubasa-Kun told me that once, y'know. He didn't explain why, but I have a feeling that we'll understand sooner or later. The truth always comes out, and we'll find out why he just isn't how he normally is, alright?"
A defeated sigh came from Katsuki "Alright." He muttered "But until then, he has to deal with us!"
Tsu chuckled "Always, we wouldn't the team before if we didn't mess with Tsubasa."
Meanwhile, Tsubasa was working to set up Miho and the first year manager of Karasuno, watching as the brunette spoke to the shorter blonde, nodding to himself.
"What are you doing, elite?!"
And Karasuno's players, so eccentric with their greetings.
"What do you mean, Buddha?" The shorter asked the shaved head male to his right, Karasuno's libero next to the bald male "I'm simply hooking two people up." He shrugged "What do you need?"
"YOU'RE HOOKING SOMEONE UP!?" Shin'Ichi Tsubasa remembered this guy now, Tanaka Ryunosuke, a wing spiker. He had proclaimed his love for the third year manager multiple times, once in front of live television.
"Yeah, Miho and your short blonde manager." Tsubasa replied as he saw Miho get the younger's number, smirking to himself "They would make a cute couple, don't you think?"
The two males seemed to process something for a second before staring at Miho and the blonde manager, Yachi Hitoka
"Woah..." Tanaka muttered
"How could we have not seen..." The libero, Nishinoya Yuu, said
"THAT THIS WAS A PERFECT RELATIONSHIP?!" Shin'Ichi Tsubasa chuckled quietly as he picked at his palm, anxious but taking note of the bruises that were forming from Tsu's powerful spikes.
Miho soon ran over, a happy smile falling over her features "Thanks Shin-Chan!" She said to her friend, calling him by one of her many nicknames "Yachi-San's nice!"
"You were complimenting her looks yesterday, thought I'd help you out." he gave a tired smile "I'm tired, see ya, just had to make sure you didn't mess anything up."
With that, he left the female to happily jump to herself in excitement.
Tsubasa walked down the hall to his shared room again, noticing how most had either retired to their rooms for the night or were playing card games elsewhere.
"You said he was here last night, Ushiwaka?" A familiar voice drifted Tsubasa's way from where he was headed to
"That is correct yes, just had to state some things."
"Yeah, just calling me short." Tsubasa said as he rounded the corner, seeing the two Shiratorizawa players "And fragile, if I remember right."
"Ah! The great Observer!" Tendo Satori was a different type of person from Ushijima. Tendo was loud and he was playful and he knew how to intimidate in more ways than monotone and height. "I was hoping to meet you!"
"And Guess Monster." Shin'Ichi Tsubasa had heard where the nickname stemmed from. He knew Tendo Satori hated it, but he was also aware that Tendo knew that Tsubasa hated being called the observer, so they were at an impasse "To what do I owe the pleasure of two third years blocking my way?"
"We just wanna know how someone as short as you can stop Ushiwaka's spikes!" Tendo said with a cheery attitude.
"So he brought backup, just in case, I see." Tsubasa nodded "How pathetic."
Tendo stopped. This was a new side of Tsubasa nobody, save for his team, that nobody had probably ever seen. "Pathetic, you say?" he questioned "Do tell why."
"Simply because you find someone like me to be a threat." Tsubasa said with a yawn "Though, it's only custom, I am a bigger threat than Karasuno, and I heard you lost to them, oh how it must hurt your ego."
Ushijima glared at the Ōkami libero, just who does he think he is?
"Now, if that is all, I'm sleepy, move."
Satori Tendo understood now. The red head looked at the smaller, a raised eyebrow. All of this because he was tired? But then he spotted the bruises starting to form an his arms, something that didn't even happen when he received Ushijima's spikes. The ace must have been behind it, after all, he had seen Tsubasa receive from the senior before, he always seemed to wince.
"Sure then, buddy!" Tendo moved out of the way, watching as Tsubasa walked past himself and Ushijima.
"Why did you let him leave?" Ushijima glared at his companion "We could have gotten answers."
"Not right now." Tendo shook his head. "We get to crush him when he's at his fullest, otherwise it wouldn't be satisfying, right?"
