Ring. Ring. Looks like the boy I met earlier is calling. I pick up the phone. "Hello?"
"Hi. I forgot to tell you my name." He says with a little laugh. "I'm James."
"Cute." I reply. "So, James, what's your last name?"
"Finn." He answered. Zoey Finn. I can live with that."And what is your last name, Zoey?"
"Banks."
I hear somebody call breakfast time.
"I gotta go. I'm sorry breakfast is ready."
"Ok, Zoey Banks." I can tell he is smiling. I know what he sounds like when he smiles. "Bye."
"Bye."
I hang up the phone and go to the door. It swings open and I slam it closed. I'm starving! I run to the room where I was checked in and notice a sign over a door that reads cafeteria. I sprint to the door and walk in calmly. There is a long long but it moves quickly as everyone grabs a bowl of oatmeal. I get in line and see a girl with a pale skin tone and chestnut colored hair.
"Hi, um, are you in line?" I ask. She turns around. The girl and a ring in her eyebrow. But other than that she was really pretty with bright green colored eyes and hair cut to her jaw bone. She has bangs falling on one side of her face. Her cheekbones popped out of her face like they were in a 3-D movie. Her skin is flawless. Her eyes are big.
"Yes." She replies kindly. "How old are you?"
"I'm 14. Almost 15."
"I'm Natasha. 15. What's your name?"
"Zoey." The line moves up. Natasha and I grab our bowls of oatmeal. I take a bite, and spit it out. "Aw, man! This stuff tastes like crap!"
"If you like that you're gonna love dinner." She says.
"Well then I think that's the worst that's happened to me here." We walk over to a table with two empty seats. There is no one across from us.
"Looks like you enjoy it here. Why do you like it so much?"
I explain to her how I jumped put of the window and got sent to the hospital and met Julia. Then I explain how they arrested my mother and I was sent here. I tell her about how I met James and got his number.
"Wow." She says. "I've never seen anyone so happy to be here."
"I just can't believe how much better my life got because I jumped out a window." We both laugh. I met 2 new people today that I really love.
2 new people.
