Chapter 2

Tanee' POV:

As the doors opened, I stepped out and started walking to the library.As i was paasign by the boys in my reading session was getting cuffs put on them 

Jerry:you better get to the library (while laughing along with others that heard him

Jerry was a bad somebody. He stole his step fathers car and burned it in the woods. 

when i got to the library i set out Bluford books for them to read. Mark is going to read Pretty Ugly. Anthony is reading Until We Meet Again. Cameron is reading the Bully. Jason is reading Schooled. when they came in the cuffs came off and they sat down.

Me: the books i have set  out for you is the books i want you to read. After about 60 minutes of reading i want you to tell me about what you read.

then they started reading 

During those 60 minutes i read 1 one chapter of each of the books. When the time was up they told me what they read.

Mark: This is about a girl thats having trouble in school and at home. And errbody keep on buggin her to be more like her sister. This book actually made me mad because my family always said that i should be more like my sister and i was like im sorry but im not a girl.

Me; i feel you, you know and some people said that i look just like my sister and sometimes me even act alike. But when them report cards came i had at least 1 A, 2 B's and the rest C's. My sister had all a's and b's. when they look at both of ours they look at me like she need to be more like her sister or she need to do better. Im like im trying my best and if that isnt enough then what ever. Anthony what about your book?

Anthony: It was about a girl and her sick grandmother and the girl was falling for this player but she wouldnt listen to the people around her trying to tell her that he is a player. But She didnt listen

Me: does that remind you of someone

He cleared his throat and said

Anthony: Nah

We all laughed

Me: Cameron can you tell us about what your book is about 

Cameron:This boy has to move from his home to live with his uncle with his mom. His dad died so thats what made them move

Cameron took a deep breath and put his head down and then started speaking again

Cameron: it sounded like me but im worst. i picked on when i moved here because my mother died. i started getting bullied for being quiet and how skinny i was. But then i started doing stupid stuff justt to stay out of that place

As he spoke he struggled to hold back tears

Me: well if you do plan on going back i will protect you. All of you matter of fact.

Cameron: thank you

Me: your welcome. Now Jason what have you read so far

Jason: Lionel cant read and barely know how to write and all he wants to do is play basketball. He likes this girl named malika and i dont think he has a chance. He also wants to drop out because his teachers are bugging him and he dont even know they trying to help him. Like my teacher Mrs, Sutton, she always said she will pray for me and that shes worried about me and i hate when people worry about me

He said as he got angry

Me: well if you change your actions you wont have to hear that

Jason: True

Me:i picked those books out because they are similar to what yall are goign through. Yall can go now

As they left they looked really touched by what i said
