Once upon a time...

In the cold night of December, Taria was sitting in her couch near a fireplace. She was flipping page after page—tired of the boring atmosphere.

Sadly, she cannot do anything about it because it's the only book that the Sagi Household owned. Taria was already aware of the indifference her relatives bestowed upon her. That was because she was too smart for her age.

Still, she would just sweetly smile at them whenever she saw them glaring.

It seemed like people hated her, but if she look at a bigger perspective, maybe they just had a bad day.

Little did they know, Taria was not originally from this world.

This... is a novel she wrote back then.

And she woke up as one of the supporting character in the novel.

The problem was that she wrote this novel 10 years ago when she was still young and haven't had the knowledge about the world. It mostly contain obsessive characters, violence and even cliché scenes that seemed very romantic back then. Looking at it in her current perspective, she was a little embarrassed but she can still feel the fulfillment after writing it. Though, even with all the trashy concept, it was the first novel-length that she finished so she kept a copy.

She suddenly remembered the encounter in early morning.

"Taria! Have you eaten yet?" a petite girl asked her she got out.

It was the female lead of the story.

Even the description of the female lead is cringe-worthy. Mary was the damsel in distress type. She is kind, affectionate and obedient. Of course, the turning point was only she grew in a very poor family. And she was an outcast amongst commoners.

"No, not yet."

Taria tried to hide her smile in meeting one of her creations.

"You shouldn't skip breakfast! Here have some cookies I baked earlier." Mary then gave her a cookie jar.

The supporting role that Taria reincarnated was merely Mary's friend. She was just a passerby and the female lead's neighbor in the novel which got a name. In the novel, Taria was supposed to shove the cookie jar away and then the female lead would be discouraged. But as a person with clear mind, Taria can't just shove the jar just because of plot that the female lead was an outcast.

Taria accepted Mary's kindness. "Thank you."

Taria's lips rose when she saw her character move in a close distance. She intentionally gave her the bright atmosphere around her. But that wouldn't really last long as to when the male lead will appear very soon.

Dylan Lizen.

It was her fault that the male lead has a twisted personality. She would blame the hype of obsessive characters but it was partly hers for joining.

"Ah, what have I done?" Taria murmured against herself.

Dylan will come at the city before the sunset comes. If she remembered correctly, he came from the battlefield. Dylan is considered a monster amongst nobles. He had a set of deadly eyes that no one would last a second looking at.

After one scene, Dylan and Mary would meet at the village. Because of Mary's beauty, Dylan would be of course, enchanted. He then become violent and obsessive of her because she can't return his feelings.

Taria had been absorbed in thinking that she hadn't notice that someone was knocking in her door.

It was snowing outside, at that. So who would knock so fiercely, much, that it can break the door?

"Who's there?" she asked.

"O-open up..."

It was a hoarse voice.

Judging from it, it was definitely a man. Taria quickly grabbed a pan from the kitchen counter. When she walked closer to the door, the atmosphere became colder.

Gosh, she should have invited someone over! Why did she even think about being alone?

The fire in the fireplace was getting washed out.

"Open... door..." The knocks became faint.

Taria's heartbeat quickened along with her curiosity.

Should she open the door or not? There's many consequences. If she's not careful, it could be a bad guy that could harm her. Though, what if it's an injured person?

She grabbed the doorknob open.

Taria looked down to the latter.

A man was in his face down on the floor. The body wasn't moving. When Taria scooted down, she can hear him breathing faintly.

"Sir? Can you hear me?"

"I was—" The man tried to stand but he failed.

Taria lend her hand but when she got a good view of his face, her jaw almost fell.

What is the male lead doing here?!

"...looking for you" he said then grabbed Taria's waist with his free hand.

It was icy cold in front of her doorway, but she didn't know why she felt sparks.
