Chapter twenty

I kept hearing a beeping sound every two seconds. I finally opened my eyes and was met with a bright light. I squinted trying to adjust to the light. I looked over and saw Aidan asleep on the couch with his mouth slightly open. The second thing that caught my attention was all the flowers and balloons and stuffed animals around the room. I tried to set up but the pain made me stop moving so I could catch my breath agin. I was trying to breath when my door opened and Ally walked in. She stopped when she looked at me and dropped the coffee she had in her hand.
"Paris!"
i smiled and she ran over to me.
"Oh my gosh your awake!"
"Of course I am."
"Don't you remember what happened?"
"Yes I was shot."
"Yea the police arrived just in time thanks to the chip your dad had in planted in you."
"What!"
Aidan jumped up. He looked mad until he saw me awake. He just sat there though looking at me.
"Yea when you where ten remember when you go your tonsils took out?"
"Yea."
"That's when he had it out in I guess that's when he got his first death threat."
"Well I guess it did save me."
she smiled.
"So I don't know if you'll be happy about this but your status did change at school from the good girl."
"To what?"
"A hero!"
I laughed and it hurt.
"I've got to go back to Will he was put in here too."
"What for?"
"Well they gave him a concussion when they hit him."
"Ok tell him I said feel better."
She smiled and left. Aidan walked over to me and put my face between his hands.
"If you ever do anything like that ever agin I myself will kill you."
I smiled.
"Are you mad that you didn't get to be a hero?"
He smirked.
"Yes."
He bent down and kissed me.
"That was so stupid of you! You could have died."
"Which time?"
"Both!"
"Nah."
he brought a chair beside my bed.
"You really worried everyone.....Paris I thought you died. I didn't know what happened I'll I knew was something pushed me down then I saw you fall with blood coming out of your shoulder and you went pale so fast and I couldn't stop it."
He had to stop his voice was cracking.
"I'm sorry I couldn't just let you get shot I mean what type of girl friend would I be?"
he looked at me and laughed.
"Girl friend."
"Well I figured since I loved you and you loved me we should date shouldn't we?"
"Yea but I didn't get to ask you."
"Was you wanting to ask me?"
"Duh I mean I had this whole ask thing planned out where I was going to get shot out of a cannon and throw confetti at you."
"Shoot guess I messed it up then."
He smiled and rubbed my cheek.
"No I'm still going to ask you."
"Make it romantic ok?"
"Ok."
"So what happened to the cave."
"They blew it up. they took everyone there into custody and went back and blew up the cave getting rid of everything."
"What about all of officers Red's other things."
"They found where he had the girls and the mob the fighting arena was shut down."
"What are you going to do I mean about your mom."
"They had the funeral for her yesterday."
"Did you go?"
"No."
"Why!"
"Because I wanted to be here with you."
"But she was your mom."
He laughed.
"I hated that woman she never done one thing for me other then gave birth to me."
I didn't say anything.
"Where are you going to live?"
"I don't know yet I'm not eighteen yet so I can't live on my own."
I sat there.
"What about my house?"
"I don't know if your parents will allow that."
"Why not I mean it's only until school is over and we go to college it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I'll ask them today."
"Ok."
The nurse came in and gave me my medicine and I started falling asleep before I was completely asleep I felt Aidan kiss me on the forehead.
