Chapter: Ten

Zara was making her way to the hospital, Stiles texted her saying that he and Lydia had almost died last night, same as Scott, Malia and Liam. Way too much was going on and too many of her friends were having near death experiences.

Man, life really sucked ass.

"Melissa! Where is Stiles?"

"He's in a room, I'll take you to him." She says before getting up from her desk and leading her down the hall. She opened the door telling Stiles that someone was looking for him, Zara quickly ran in and pulled her best friend into a hug, Stiles instantly wrapped his arms around her.

"You absolute idiot, stop almost dying on me!" She exclaims before punching him in the chest.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He replies

Zara sighs, "I just feel like I'm about to lose everyone."

Stiles frowns before grabbing her shoulders, "We're not going anywhere, Zara."

"Derek is, he is literally fated to die, Stiles. I don't know how to handle it and I can't have you and Scott, Lydia, and Malia and Liam almost dying too. It's just... it's too much. I wish it would all just stop."

Stiles pulls something out of his pocket, "I can't do anything about Derek and you know if I could I would, but I do know how we could possibly stop the Dead Pool." Stiles says holding the cassette in his hand.

"What's that?"

"A recording that Brunski, the guy who tried to kill me and Lydia last night took of Lydia and Lyla's grandmother Lorraine. He killed her but he recorded this tape, I think if we can figure out where they were it could tell us how to shut off the Dead Pool." He explains

"Where are we gonna get a cassette player?"

"Don't radios have them?" Stiles asked

Zara thinks, "Yeah, they do."

"Okay, so we just need to head to my place cause I have one." Stiles says

Zara walks to the door but realizes it's locked, "Why would it be locked?"

"No clue, um." Stiles scratches the back of his neck.

"I'm gonna break it." Zara goes to put her hand on the handle, Stiles stops her.

"Please don't, my dad already owes the hospital so much money right now, I don't need to add a broken door." he mumbles

"Okay, well you're lucky I have a bobby pin today." she reaches above her head and pulls the bobby pin out of her hair and twist it with her teeth before jiggling it into the lock, she waits for a few seconds before the door opens. "Problem solved, let's go."

The both vamp to Stiles' house and search around for an old radio, once they find it downstairs they plug it up on Stiles' desk and sit down before placing the cassette inside. They share a glance before the tape starts.

"Let's go Lorraine."

"Listen to me. Please Listen. There's something I have to do, something I have to stop.

"I have to take you back to Eichen, Lorraine."

"That's Brunski, the second is obviously Lorraine." Stiles says as he turns the volume up, Zara nods as she continues to listen.

"No. No. I don't think you're gonna be taking me anywhere. I can hear the recorder in your pocket. It's on now, isn't it? You're making a tape. Just like you taped the others."
