Chapter Two

Kara's POV
Harry left me in utter shock.
All of a sudden, I actually matter in high school? I'm cared about by Harry Styles of all people? It's unreal.

I walked around the hallway with the biggest smile on my face, just ditching my first period class. I needed some time to get myself together.

I couldn't get his face out of my mind. His chocolate brown curls and stunning green eyes. But my affection towards him only made me more anxious, as I was specifically warned from Tiffany to stay away from "her man". Last time I checked, Harry doesn't belong to anyone.

I've never had these feelings toward anyone. Other than this boy named Jake in like fourth grade, but he was sort of a dick so things didn't work out that well.

But Harry, was the first to show interest in me. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, butterflies erupting in my stomach and heat rising to my cheeks. I couldn't help but smile at the dimpled boy.

Lunch. My worst nightmare.

I never had anywhere to sit, always the awkward girl sitting by herself or with the few friends I had. My closest friend, Becca, doesn't have my lunch period. Seems like I'm stuck by myself.

I saw Harry walk into the cafeteria with his friends, flashing him a small smile when our eyes met.

Oh shit, he's coming over here. I hurry and fix my hair, and my shirt, and try to act casual.

Be cool, Kara.

"Hey, Kara" Harry says as he walks up to me. "You wanna come sit with me and my friends?"

"Um that's okay. I don't think I'm welcome there."

"No worries. C'mon, I'll introduce you."

We walked over to where Harry and his friends were seated, thankfully Tiffany wasn't there.

"Hi guys, this is Kara. We've just began talking today, and she was sitting by herself so I invited her over. Shes very nice."

"Hello." I timidly spoke.

"Hey, weren't you in my chemistry class last year?" a boy with black hair asked. "I'm Zayn Malik, in case you didn't know."

"Yeah, I think I was. Hi"

The rest of his friends, Liam, Niall, Louis, Samantha, and Kate greeted me as I nervously sat down at the table with them.

"So, Kara" Niall spoke up. "what do you like to do?"

I had to think, I don't really do much. "I like to draw," I simply replied.

"Oh really, me too!" Zayn exclaimed. "I love drawing animations and stuff."

"Oh that's cool," I replied as I added a small smile.

"I love your shoes," Samantha said. "where did you get them?"

"Oh, there's a small boutique around the block from my house. It's really nice, I have a lot of stuff from there."

"We should totally go shopping! What do you think, Kate?"

"Yeah, we should! It would be so fun." Kate said.

"Sure." i spoke nervously. Whoa, did I actually just make plans with two new friends? This is the best day ever!

"Well I gotta go study for my math quiz, I have one of those dick teacher that gave a pop quiz on the first day." Liam said. "Yeah, I have some work to do." Louis and Niall added. "it was really nice to meet you, Kara" the three of them said as they exited the cafeteria.

"Hey Kara, you wanna come to the library with me? I have to go find some stupid book for literature" Harry said.

"Yeah, sure" I agreed. "It was really nice meeting you," I said to Samantha and Kate. "Thanks for letting me sit with you, and text me about our plans?"

"How am I gonna text you if I don't have your number, silly" Kate replied.

"Oh, right" I let out a nervous laugh. I gave the two girls my number, or should I say, friends my number, and walked off with Harry into the library down the hall.

"So, what book are you supposed to get?" I asked him.

"There isn't a book." Harry spoke. "I just wanted to be alone with you."

I don't think I've ever blushed more in my life.

Suddenly, a saw a certain blonde bitch with her group of stupid followers.

Tiffany saw me with Harry, and gave me a death glare as she walked over.

"Hey harry," she said still chewing obnoxiously loud gum.

"Hi Tiffany." he said, obviously not caring.

"Um, may I ask what you're doing with this loser, when you could be hanging out with me?"

Well that hurt a little.

"Fuck off, Tiffany. I'd rather hang with Kara than you any day."

"Whatever." she said in response to Harry's comment. "Cmon girls, we don't need them."

Tiffany came behind me when Harry wasn't looking. "Kara? I thought I told you once. Stay away from him."

"Obviously, he doesn't want me to." damn, Kara. Where did this confidence come from?

"You'll regret it" she replied.

"I'll be waiting" I said back. I feel so badass.

She walked away with her bobblehead friends and I turned back to Harry.

"Damn, girl. Who knew there was so much sass in that small body?"

"There's a lot of things you don't know about me."

Apparently a lot of things I don't know about myself, too.

"By the way, thank you for standing up for me. Did you really mean it when you said you'd hang out with me instead?"

"Every bit of it. And I would love, to learn all the things I don't know about you."

Gathering up all of this new confidence I had, I kissed Harry on the cheek.

"I would like that too."
