The cold floor of the hospital stung her bare feet. She was running, gasping for breath, trying to get away from.. something... the girl looked behind her and saw it. The monster from her nightmares.
It was a dark figure in the shape of a wolf. It had piercing red eyes and unnaturally long fangs, covered in blood. It's body was made out of a substance darker than void, and every so often it would drip onto the floor as it ran. It's legs were thin and bony and had gashes along them dripping a dark red brown substance (blood?). The chest had a gaping hole in it exposing the heart.. or what was left of it. The heart was obscured by a black slime and was glowing red. The paws were huge and were covered in sticky blood, and the claws were long and bloodstained with black slime on them.
The air started to smell like death the closer it got. The smell slowly starting to suffocate her until all of a sudden... she saw a light at the end of the hall. She kept trying to run faster and faster trying to reach it but the beast was hard on her heels. She could feel the creature's breath above her, the smell of it making her gag.
She saw the light getting closer though! About a hundred feet and she would be safe. At least she hoped the light meant safety. That's what the light always means.. right? She kept running until she could swear she could touch it and then.. a book no bigger than a school notebook tripped her and she started to fall. She screamed as the beast was soon upon her, it's acrid breath making her feel sick. She could feel it's drool dripping on her head. She tried to get back up but the instant she tried to move her foot she felt excruciating pain in her ankle.
Tears streaming down from her eyes, she looked up one last time to see the beast start to lunge towards her face. The beast's teeth were inches away from her and the sound of her scream echoed through the dark hallway.
