Purrfect Apawcalypse: The Untold Story

Chapter 1: The start of something new

"I can't believe you didn't wake me up before starting breakfast, Jaxson! You should know I don't trust you with cooking on Wednesdays!" A very frustrated Labrador, Nick, started to frantically get dressed for school in his Hachiko High uniform, he makes sure Jaxson isn't looking at him as he puts on his shirt, vest, and pants. Nick had a green eye, blonde hair, and beige fur along with a few freckles near his nose lining and cheeks. Jaxson on the other hand had fur as white as snow, along with black ashed hair and red beady eyes with bags under them. Jaxson was looking away, while sitting nearby yawning and lazily cleaning himself up by brushing his tangled hair. The brush kept getting stuck frequently as he hisses at the pain and decides to give up on his hair for today. Jaxson never really liked to get up early and instead wanted to sleep in but of course he wasn't able to due to a thing called high school. It's currently Nick's last year of high school while for Jaxson it's his second year of high school. Sadly, the two are in different high school's Nick goes to Hachiko while his brother Jaxson goes to Kemono, a private school for cats. "Jaxson, hurry up and go get dressed! Properly this time. I don't want you to be wearing that hoodie to conceal that red shirt of yours either or else you'll get in trouble again!" Nick barks to Jaxson in a stern tone as Jaxson yawns again and rubs his eyes sighing as he slowly nods.

"Alright, alright I get it. I'll wear the stupid dumb uniform shirt today for fucks sake!" Jaxson spits the words; he absolutely hates the Kemono uniform with a burning passion and Nick shoots Jaxson a glare.

 "Language, Jaxson. You should know cursing isn't allowed while I'm here." Nick puts his paws on his hips as Jaxson slowly gets up from his chair, wobbling a bit as he rubs his eyes more. He's trying to wake up for school as he slowly stumbles out of the room. Jaxson almost falls straight on his face until Nick grabs him by the arm, stopping him from falling. 

"Guess I'm gonna have to let you ride on my back so you can get more sleep today huh...?" Nick said a bit worried for his brother. Nick makes sure Jaxson is standing up straight as Jaxson looks up at Nick, yawning and rubbing his eyes again. Nick sighs as he makes sure that Jaxson is awake by slightly slapping him on his face. Jaxson groans annoyed by this but slowly wakes up while he slowly walks out the door to get dressed. Once Nick is fully dressed he goes into the kitchen to make breakfast for Jaxson, the rest of the family have gone and went somewhere else so now only Nick and Jaxson live in the house by themselves, of course Nick being the parent for Jaxson while the others are out. Nick starts to make a simple bacon with eggs breakfast for him and Jaxson. Meanwhile, Jaxson is sluggishly brushing his hair again and putting on his uniform clothes in the bathroom. Jaxson looks into the mirror as he examines his red eyes and the bags under his eyes. 

He makes a "Tsk" sound as he seems frustrated by his looks, mostly his eyes as he starts to defy Nick's orders by not putting on the uniform shirt but instead the red shirt and then his hoodie. Jaxson smiles into the mirror, looking at his teeth as he slowly frowns at his teeth too. His teeth are way too sharp for a cat that it seems almost abnormal. Jaxson then decides not to think about it again as he starts to brush his teeth. A few minutes later once he's done he goes down to the kitchen, seeing that Nick has already made a plate for Jaxson and himself. The two sit across from each other on the table as they both eat. After a few minutes of dead silence Jaxson clears his throat awkwardly, causing Nick to stop eating while Jaxson looks at Nick. "I'm sorry it was starting to get eerily silent. I just had to say something at least" Nick lets out a slight smile to Jaxson as he finishes eating and grabs his plate washing the dish. 

"I understand that Jaxson, If you want we can talk for a bit before going our separate ways to school." Nick says calmly as Jaxson shakes his head and stands up.

"Can you just carry me to school? I don't wanna separate from school." Jaxson looks slightly down as he looks away as Nick nods to him.

 "Alright, Jaxson we can do that today." Jaxson finishes his plate as he hands it to Nick, Nick starts to wash the dish and after he's done he puts it away. The two walk outside as Jaxson slowly climbs on Nick's back getting a piggyback ride from Nick as Nick makes sure Jaxson won't fall off. Jaxson slowly relaxes as he holds onto Nick tightly as the two slowly make their way to Kemono High first. After a few minutes of walking Nick decides to say something to see if Jaxson is awake still. "Hey, Jaxson are you awake?" Jaxson's tail perks straight up as he slowly nods.

 "Of course I am...It's really relaxing here like I'm hugging a pillow..." Jaxson yawns more as Nick puts him down. 

"Alright you should walk the rest of the way with me okay?" Nick said as Jaxson nodded and started to walk with Nick. "You've been eating in school right? I've noticed you're getting skinner too!" Nick says in a worried tone as Jaxson looks at Nick for a bit and laughs slightly.

 "What are you my dad now? You're my brother, start acting like it more." Jaxson said in a joking manner as Nick slightly chuckles responding back to Jaxson.

 "I'm sorry for being concerned about my own heartless brother's well being!" Nick said sarcastically as Jaxson smiles at him and slightly pushes him.

 "Now that's the Nick I know! Come on, let's talk about more interesting stuff, we have a few more minutes before we hit the school entrance." Jaxson said joyfully from seeing his brother joke around with him again. Nick hasn't joked around like this with Jaxson starting about two months ago. Ever since then Nick's been so uptight with Jaxson.  "So, how's school? Have you seen Rainy around?" Jaxson says, hoping to get a response from Nick, however, Nick was staring into the distance seeming distracted by something as he suddenly snaps back and looks at Jaxson.

 "Huh? Oh, Rainy? I've seen them from time to time. They say they miss you but they understand why you gotta go to Kemono High." Nick says in a monotone voice. Something didn't seem right with him...Jaxson decides to try and joke around with Nick to cheer him up 

"Oh really? I'm surprised they don't piss their pants just being there!" Jaxson giggled slightly as Nick looked at Jaxson and slightly laughed.

 "Jaxson, you're not supposed to joke around like that." Nick responds in a sarcastic way as he smiles at Jaxson. Jaxson seems proud of himself for cheering Nick up at least a little bit, he decides to keep at it by saying another joke to Nick.

 "What do you call a pig that does karate?" Jaxson says waiting for Nick's reaction. Nick raises an eyebrow confused by this at first before saying.

 "Umm... Is it... Pork karate?" Nick says confused as he tilts his head as Jaxson responds. 

"A pork chop." Jaxson says a bit deadpan as he waits for Nick's reaction. Nick then laughs at the stupid dad joke as Nick put his paw on Jaxson's head and pat Jaxson's head.

 "I'm surprised you even managed to tell a dad joke to me, you must really care about me..." Nick says happily as Jaxson starts to purr from being pet. "Thanks, Jaxson. You're the best brother I could ever have." Jaxson chuckles as he slightly flicks his tail.

 "You're welcome o' bro of mine!" Jaxson says cheerfully as the two finally arrive at the school. Suddenly, when Nick is spotted by the other cats at the school they hiss at him rudely seeming to not like dogs all too much, especially Nick at the moment. Nick ignores it while Jaxson looks worried about it again, even though it's his second year he's still not used to it. Nick hugs his brother as Jaxson slowly hugs him back reluctantly, the cats immediately back away as Nick chuckles slightly.

 "Don't worry about what they think, Jaxson. Just do your best today, okay? And please, for my sake and yours...Pay attention in class for your magic lessons, okay? You've got your wand?" Nick says in a soft tone to Jaxson. Jaxson nods as he takes out his wand. It's in the shape of a knife as Nick nods seeing his wand. "Make sure not to swing that too much. You don't want another accident like last time okay?" Nick says concerned, however, Jaxson just chuckles at it.

 "Okay, Okay I'll be fine don't worry about me! Now head to school we'll meet up after school like always, Nick!" Jaxson says confidently as Nick nods. The two go their separate ways with Nick leaving first for school as Jaxson puts his wand back in his pocket hoodie. The cats glare at Jaxson...Hard...Jaxson sighs as he mumbles to himself, "Here we go again." He says in an annoyed tone. Jaxson enters the school as a few cats hiss at him, he smells completely like a dog due to being around Nick frequently. Suddenly someone casts a magic spell to knock Jaxson down on the ground, pinning him as the cats laugh. "Come on, get up, oh wait you can't! You're too weak at your magic powers to even do anything! Why don't you do us all a favor and just drop out already?" A random cat said in a condescending tone. The cat reveals itself showing a male cat with brown fur.
