[Prologue]
Black.
It surrounded him on all four sides, pulling deeper and deeper underneath the already thin and cracking surface. Panic rose in his chest, tightening his lungs to the point where he had forgotten how to exhale or even breathe properly.
He felt completely weightless. Floating on a never ending sea of calm, overlapping waves. But it wasn't as nice as it was let up to be. But anyway, where was here? How did he get here?
The last thing he could remember was being engulfed in white, hot, and blistering pain. As the flames licked at his skin, the heat became so unbearable in a matter of moments.
Searing......melting......agony.....
Then the next second he was feeling nothing. Blank.
He urged his mouth to open,' Say something, say anything!' his mind shrieked, but the words were caught in his throat. Like he had swallowed thick glue. Next, he tried to open his eyes, but the result was the same as the first.
It felt as if heavy, lead or sand were holding down his eye-lids shut, effectively keeping them together. He couldn't even bat an eye-lash, let alone blink.
Everything except his mind, and heart refused to budge. But how was he still.....
Then everything went into overdrive after minutes of realization. He was still on fire!
Pain lit up his nerves, while a raw scream bubbled from his chest and out his dry, chapped lips. The sheer power of the flames burned him from the inside out, and he couldn't take it any longer.
"I SAID STOP IT!"
