A few weeks later following her hangout with some of Class 1A, Michiru arrived back home from UA after focusing on physical training she'd done after school. Even after learning new abilities since the start of UA she couldn't stop there, she needed to keep trying and working hard to improve her powers.
She stopped for a moment in front of her door, looking down at her phone realizing that the next day would be the day of the Sports Festival. To be in front of thousands of spectators, both heroes and citizens alike watching her and countless other students compete was gonna be interesting.
She continued to scroll through details from different sites about the Sports Festival, even after Mr. Aizawa explained to her that she wanted to be prepared.
This would either be the biggest opportunity for her to bring her closer to becoming a hero, or may as well be the end. But she became so lost thinking about it she looked up minutes later to see Shirou in front of her staring with a confused look just after opening the door.
"Shirou! Oh um ah... how long were you standing there?" Shirou crossed his arms at Michiru who asked in embarrassment.
"Long enough to know that I may have to take that phone from you." Michiru got slightly worried, apologizing to Shirou for making him wait while she was outside on the phone.
"Kidding." Shirou joked as the two went inside the house, being greeted by Kuro who flew onto Shirou's shoulder.
The two walked over to the kitchen which was a bit down from the hallway of where the door was. While Shirou went back to the stove to prepare food, Michiru sat down and placed her bag aside on the ground.
"But what made you so focused on that phone anyway? Been a while since I saw you like that." Shirou asked while he continued to cook, tasting the curry just before adding a bit more spice to add flavor.
"Oh well I wanted to see if I can find more info on the Sports Festival. You know? I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything."
"I don't blame you, it's a big deal. But since I'm a UA staff member now I'll be able to watch you tomorrow though." Michiru smiled after hearing the news from Shirou.
"So don't worry kid, I'll be cheering from the sidelines." After giving words of encouragement, he turned off the stove and walked over to the cabinets beside him. Grabbing bowls to serve him and Michiru their dinner.
"Do you think you're gonna scout out anyone at the festival?" Michiru asked, catching Shirou's attention as he turned over with a curious look.
"Why do you ask?"
"Just wondering, it's been nagging at me all week so I wanted to ask."
"It's actually a good question, I've thought about maybe taking one or two students as interns. Principal Nezu recommended it so I get to learn how the whole teacher thing works." Shirou looked back, grabbing a spoon and started to pour the curry.
The scent of cooked chicken mixed into the curry along with spices filled Michiru's nose. Michiru could've sworn she had heard her stomach growl not realizing how hungry she was.
"That would be good though, but you gotta see who you would wanna scout..." Michiru tried to take her mind off her aching stomach, with Shirou finally approaching the table with two bowls of curry rice.
By the time Shirou placed Michiru's food down she started to eat before he could take a bite of his own. Shirou tiredly sighed with a smile seeing Michiru scarf down the food he successfully made, it took him some time to learn how to cook on his own without Melissa or Gem. He had to admit the two were the nicest couple he knew in Animacity, always wanting to lend a hand to anyone in need.
