AUTHOR'S NOTE: These first few chapters will be told in different people's perspectives. Don't worry, the character in Chapter 1 will be the protagonist of this book. Trust me! ~Alt-kun

"Boss, I heard that the Dollars are back!"
"You serious, Mike?! Who told you that?"
"Oh, no one other than that Ace Matsumura!"
"W-what? A-Ace Matsumura?!"

I grit my teeth and rub my chin.

"Shut the hell up about it! Ace Matsumura is nothing but a trouble maker! And shut up about the Dollars, will ya? I don't want them to pick a fight with us this time." I adjust my brass knuckles and glare at the pansy that started talking about the Dollars and Ace Matsumura. I push the brass knuckles down so hard that 4 of my fingers cracked. He looked terrified as usual.

"Whatever, Boss. If the Dollars wanna fight, we'll give them a fight. We're the Royal Pains! A.E.E, baby! Above Everyone Else!"

I give him the death stare.

"Watch what you say, grunt. The Dollars are real dangerous. Remember what they did to the Liberation Front? They had the same goals as the Dollars and the Dollars still kicked their asses for interfering!"

I stand up from my "throne" and spit on the ground.

"This warehouse is the only thing we got, huh? You expect us to beat the Dollars when we can't even afford a good place to stay at?! Idiots! We need a new place. This old dump will get traced by the police soon."

I take out my cellphone from my pocket and check the time.

11:35 PM... It's getting late. I have school tomorrow and I have to meet up with Aaron before 7 AM to eat breakfast at McDonald's with him. I got cash so I'm fine. I should start heading home now.

I spit on the ground again and walk out the warehouse. I don't even say goodbye to the losers. They know what to do when I leave. They may seem like dimwits, but they sure know how to get rid of evidence.

Nighttime is a pretty dangerous place in this city. I'm telling you, this city is teeming with gangs. The police do a horrible job of keeping this city in order. This city is shit, but I can't blame them. Who you gotta blame, are the gangs. The Dollars, the Liberation Front, the Royal Pains, the Faceless, the Grim Reapers... I can go on and on with all the gangs here in New Haven City. "Haven" my ass. There's at least 10 gang related crimes that go on every 24 hours. Think that's tough? This city's filthy, ugly; everything the opposite of a haven. Isn't the word 'sanctuary' a synonym for 'haven'? I don't know, anymore.

I have a couple things on my mind tonight. One is the safety of my best friend Aaron. He literally just moved in to this city a week ago and tomorrow is his first day coming to Oasis Academy. It's kinda cool knowing that Aaron and I are gonna be attending school together for the first time in 3 years! These past years, we have been keeping in touch by chatting online in this chatroom. I haven't seen him ever since I moved here to New Haven City. Aaron was always a shy person. He loved to read, play video games, all that stuff. Aaron was also very socially awkward. New Haven City will change him, and that's what worries me.

The next thing on my mind is what I wanna eat tomorrow. I really like those Filet O' Fish thing they have. Do they still have hash browns? Gee.. I'm craving them.

I thought.. and thought... and thought.. until I arrived at my apartment. I don't live with my parents. I don't like talking about them, either. I take my cellphone out of my pocket and check the time.

"Shit! It's 2:28 A.M... I better go catch some rest..." I mumble to myself as I drift off to sleep in my cozy little bed.

Before I knew it, the Sun rose and my alarm clock goes off. I hit the dismiss alarm button and check my cellphone again.

"1 NEW TEXT FROM AARON! 1 NEW TEXT FROM AARON!"

I open up his text.

"Hey, do you know who the Dollars are?"
