I wake up to my mum calling me from downstairs, i get up out of the bed and walk down the stairs to my mum standing at the front door. "Shh.. Mum, you'll wake Mike" i tell her and she looks weirdly at me. "His dad had a heart attack last night, i said he could stay here instead of staying at the hospital" I whisper to her and she nods.

"Okay, sweetie. Im after getting called into work for the day, are you gonna be okay?" She asks me and i nod, reassuring her. "Yeah, mum. Im fine" i say to her and she kisses my head. "I'll see you later sweetheart" She says and i smile as she opens the front door and walks out to her car. I walk into the kitchen and get a glass of water and walk back upstairs. When i get back into my room, i notice Mike sitting up, looking at his phone.

"Morning" I say quietly and he looks up to me. "Hey" He says and smiles gently. "Listen, thank you for last night, really" He tells me and i sit back down on the bed. "Mike, its no problem. Do you want me to drop you to the hospital later?" I ask him while taking a drink of my water.

"No, its fine, i'll get a taxi." He gets up off the bed and begins to get dressed. "Mike" i say and he stops and looks at me. "Im dropping you to the hospital" i tell him and he frowns lightly. "Thank you" he walks over to me and wraps his arms around my body, i feel his lips press against my head and i smile. "Im just gonna go get dressed, then we can go." I tell him and he smiles at me.

I walk into the bathroom and brush my teeth and fix my hair into a ponytail before throwing on a pair of blue skinny jeans, while i still can. I put on a plain white t-shirt shirt, i grab a grey hoodie before heading downstairs to Mike. When i get into the kitchen, Mike is standing over the stove making pancakes. "Whats this?" I ask him as he places a stack of pancakes onto a large plate.

"Well, you have got to eat. Your eating for two, remember?" He tells me, with a small smile as he places a plate of blueberry pancakes in front of me, before sitting down and eating his own. "We're stopping off at your place first to get a few bits for your dad, im sure he doesnt want to be stuck wearing a hospital gown." I tell Mike, with a mouthful of pancake. "Yes ma'am" He says to me, grinning and i flick a blueberry at him.

"That's what you get" i say, smirking at him as he stares at me. "Lex, you don't have to drive me around all day you know" He tells me and puts his plate in the dishwasher, i do the same and turn it on. "I want to, besides it beats being stuck here alone all day. And you need somebody right now" i tell him and he smiles at me. I smile back at him and grab my jacket from the closet and take my keys from the table.

"You ready?" I ask him and he nods. We walk out the front door and get into my car, i start the engine and begin driving down the road, i park the car and stop the engine "do you want me to come up with you?" I ask him, and he nods. We get out of the car and begin walking up the stairs to his apartment and he unlocks the door.

"I don't know what i need to bring him?" He says to me, sighing. "Okay, well, he'll need some underwear, a toothbrush, clothes. Just stuff like that" I tell him and he relaxes a bit. He walks into the one of the bedrooms and comes out with a medium size duffel bag and begins to fill it with clothes and things that his dad would need. Mike runs his hands through his hair and I take his hand to calm him down. "Mike, its going to be okay. I promise." I tell him and i squeeze his hand for reassurance.

"Shall we go?" I ask and he nods, and grabs the bag full of clothes and toiletries for his dad. We walk in silence down the stairs to my car and get in. The hospital is about a 25 minute drive away from Mikes apartment block, we pull up to the hospital and i put the car in park. I get out of the car and Mike follows, with the bag over his shoulder, i look up to him and he looks stressed. I take his hand in mine and he relaxes slightly, we walk into the reception area of the hospital and down the corridor to his dad's hospital room.
