AO3 Rating: Teen & Up Audiences
[Part One was written first, but is chronologically second. I don't want to admit how long it took me to post these after they were finished just because I couldn't decide which order to post them in.]"And it's Harley with the Quaffle, to Fortescue, who fumbles the pass, recovered by Allen of the Harpies, who passes to Weasley, and she's off! Off toward the other end of the Pitch, and it's just Weasley and the Cannon's Keeper, Shandi Martin, facing off now, Weasley feints toward the left goalpost, throws for the center, and it is in! Another ten points for the Holyhead Harpies, who lead the Chudley Cannons, one hundred and twenty to eighty—"
Draco walked into the room to Harry cheering and Ron groaning.
"Bit weird for you to be cheering against your baby sister, Weasley, don't you think?"
"Weirder than Harry cheering for his ex-girlfriend?" Ron retorted with a scowl. "I'm surprised that doesn't bother you."
"I'm highly evolved, Weasel, I wouldn't expect you to understand," Draco sneered before leaning down to kiss Harry firmly on the lips. "Hello, darling."
"Hi," Harry smiled at him and lowered his voice. "Be nice, please."
"I'm always nice," Draco murmured back, "as you very well know." He winked, and Harry blushed.
"Come listen to the match with us?"
Ron groaned and slid down the sofa, taking an unnecessarily large swig of Firewhisky.
"Let me go change out of my work robes, and I will."
"C'mon, mate," Harry rounded on Ron as Draco left the room. "You promised you would try."
"I just don't understand what you see in him, Harry! He's a pretentious git, he always has been."
Draco hesitated at the bottom of the stairs, unable to resist listening for Harry's response.
"He's really not," Harry said quietly. "If you gave him a chance, if you just got to know him, you'd see that he's changed, that he's—"
"I don't want to get to know him," Ron spat back, cutting him off. "I don't understand how he convinced you to 'get to know' him! You're supposed to hate him, you always have!"
"People change, Ron—"
"And Jesperson has spotted the Snitch! She's going into a dive—oh! Thwarted by a well-hit Bludger!"
"Right, and it's all about how much he's changed, right? Not how he looks, now that he's off the Suppressant Potions that hid his Veela blood for all these years?"
"Shut up, Ron."
"Right prettier than Fleur now, isn't he? Does he have her powers of persuasion, too? Is that how he made it into your bed? Into your life? You wouldn't even know if it was, would you?"
Draco gasped sharply, as if he'd been struck. Eyes burning, he bolted up the stairs, furious that Weasley had gotten to him. Was that really what he thought? What they all thought?
He and Harry had known it was too soon to reveal their relationship, that people wouldn't be ready for it, especially so soon after he went off the Suppressants, but they hadn't had much choice when Harry's friends had come over unannounced and caught them snogging on the sofa a few weeks previous, and now there was no going back.
The ensuing row, when Weasley confronted Harry the next day, had been intense, and Draco had held Harry tightly afterward when he'd shown up on his doorstep, desperately promising him that his choice to be with Draco wouldn't end his lifelong friendships with Weasley and Granger and hoping against all hope that he wasn't lying to him.
