Starfire p.o.v. -
We walked back to the house to see electra planting some seeds on the ground she continued as we stop behind her, heron looked at me and than at her mother.
"I had the most peculiar dream, you were a queen and aunt star was your bodyguard. But that's impossible, right?" He asks and electra stands up with a frown while I walked beside her with the same look as her as I remember what had happened in the past.
"I was married, to a king and yes starfire was a bodyguard but this was a long ago." Electra said and heron walks closer to us as he gestured to our home.
"Then, How did we end up here?" He asks us and we look down at the ground. "We didn't have a choice." I said as I look away from him.
"What king?" He asks.
"King Periander." Electra responded and heron whispers something but I catch it. "The tyrant of Corinth." He says and electra looks at his son with a small glare.
"It was all prearranged, I had no say." She said as she walks away from us her back facing her back to us, I did the same walking beside her as she tells the story.
"Not long after I was married I found starfire fall from the sky which I was in the woods far from the kingdom, I give her a roof over her head and made her my personal bodyguard. When months pass by, I had caught a god's eye and so did your aunt starfire had not only caught one eye of a god but two gods. We didn't have no idea at first, all we knew is that one day my husband was kind and loving and the next day, he was cold and demeaning at first I thought maybe it was his temperament. Despising one.. while loving the other, as for your aunt starfire she will get the same roses I got from my husband but a single neon green flower on the middle and poems. It was maddening never knowing what to expect but you aunt came up with an idea to catch that person pretending to be my husband." Electra says and I continue for her.
"So, when the time he came to visit your mother I hide myself behind some curtains and with a signal your mother and I put a knife on his throat while I was using my starbolts ready to shoot him, he was shock that we were asking him questions. He revealed himself to us as in his true form, but we didn't know that Hera was watching us so one of the gods that I had caught his eye came into our mirror to warned his father about her and taking his place. His name is Apollo he started to tell me who was the other one to leave the small gifts, his other brother Hermes was the other god that I had meet later on. I came up with a small idea to have Apollo come with me to the balcony since hera was watching us, I didn't want her to know that she was looking at your mother and Zeus so I pretended that it was me and Apollo meeting each other. Apollo even surprised us as he tells us that electra was having a baby, but we knew that Hera will find out someday and I didn't want to risk it so I pretended to be pregnant in your mother's place while she hide her pregnancy from the king, one day I was praying for Zeus but because Apollo has been helping me keep an eye on hera. A women's jealousy may be very sharp but they are to blinded to see what a is real and what is not real, hera didn't even notice that I had a fake pregnant belly while your mother told me what to prey to Zeus." I said crossing my arms as heron looks at me in shock that I'll pretend to be pregnant to keep her mother safe, electra continues after me.
"Hera enlisted the help of the oneiroi, to give the king a big nightmare that day he left. Your aunt starfire convinced him to take a vacation far from the castle with some guards with him. He didn't question starfire since she was the strongest guard in the castle but hera must have told him that starfire was planning to kill him with you taking over the kingdom, he came into your aunts room right after you were born and starfire had you in her hands protecting you from the king but she didn't want to reveal herself to the humans. She didn't have a choice as she used her powers to kill the guards as they were paying attention to zeus when he came in to help her, i saved you right before the king threw you out the balcony and Zeus took us away from the castle as starfire had stayed behind to get your brother." Electra says and I glare at the ground as I remember what had happen with the baby and with me getting hurt.
"Zeus hid us here, enshrouding the village in darkness so hera couldn't see us. That's why the villagers thought that we were omens of misfortune, the dark clouds your father called forth that day have never lifted. We had to choice, if hera were to find you and starfire she would kill you that's why I didn't want to leave you both alone." Electra said and heron looks at me in the eyes with a small hope in his eyes.
"What happen to my brother?" He asks me and I grabbed my broach. "His uncle killed him right in front of me while I was shot with an arrow on my shoulder, I fell down the cliff with the baby and Hermes found me on the sand with no baby with me. I had asked him if the baby was here but he said he didn't see anything, he took me where Zeus and your mother were going to hide. Not being able to save him in time was my greatest regret, if I had arrive just in time I could have save him and be here with us." I said as I remember the babies cries and laughter of that uncle.
"All these years, I thought that we were alone. But not only did I had a brother but I have other half brothers." Heron says looking at us with sad eyes and we look down in shame.
"We're sorry for not telling you at all." Electra says and I nodded. "What was the name of the man who killed him?" He asks me and electra steps in front of me as she gently touched his cheeks with her hands.
"Don't look back, heron. Look forward, You're the son of Zeus." Electra says and heron takes her hands off him as he looks away from us. "The old man and starfire has done more for us than Zeus ever has, even starfire risked her life to protect me and you when the village tried to hurt us when we were treated bad!" Heron says glaring at the sky.
"You don't understand." Electra says to him and he looks at her with anger. "What's there to understand? When I broke my arm, who was there to set it? When we we're starving starfire would always hunt for us and the old man will always bring a rabbit to eat?" He asks her.
"He has nothing, but he still help us." He says but he stops when he saw out looks on our faces.
"No, is the old man Zeus? Is he my father?" He asks us and electra nods. "He's a coward." He says with hate in his eyes.
"Don't say that." She says to heron making him angry that she's defending him. "He's a coward for abandoning you and starfire, what about the gods that love you? Where have they been when you were almost killed by the villagers? Letting you guys live like this and have stones thrown at you." He asks and I look away when he sees me having the same expression as her mother.
"Don't tell me, they have been undercover!" Heron yells as I nodded. "They know that I don't like for them to take my battles, I'm a strong women and I can kill people if I wanted to." I said as he walks away from us in anger.
"Let's just let him calm down." I said to her and she nods as we get back inside with the door open so that we get some fresh air.
[ time skip ]
I was meditating as I head lightning land in front of us, I peak to see that Zeus as Elias was looking at electra with a frown.
"He knows Zeus, heron." I said as I went back to what I was doing and they were talking to each other with electra crying. I grabbed Zeus by the hand so that we can talk in private.
"You could take her away from here you know? I'm the one hera is looking for not her, with heron." I said with a frown as we both face each other and he sighs.
"You've done so much but I can't, She will find out about heron when she goes with her mother and than she will find out that we have been making lies for years." He says and kick a rock to the side in frustration.
"I don't want you getting killed anyway, because Apollo and Hermes care about so much. This is the first time they take interest in a person." He says as he patted my head with a smile, but he looks behind with a shock look. I look to where he is looking at only to have the same expression as his, we see a group of crows flying away from the distance.
"Don't tell me... that was hera." I said with a worried look and he nods. "I need to go, maybe I can stop her from doing something." He says and I nodded as I watch him disappear as an eagle.
