"Looks like your little man is going to be a girl." The nurse chuckled pointing to the ultrasound.
The smile on my face got wider as I looked at the grimace displayed on Eric's face. Before we came here He was bragging in the car about how cool his son was going to be. I stopped his yapping and said it could be a girl too. Long story short, we made a bet. Whoever lost had to deal with Mrs. Ongnerty when she came to complain about the condition of our lawn. Eric gave out a deep sigh as he pulled out his wallet and took out a crispy 5 dollar bill. Oh of course, the loser had to give the winner 5 dollars. I took the bill out of his hand and placed it in my purse.
"Loser." I muttered. The nurse looked between the two of us in shock before shaking her head and wiping off the now room temperature gel from my sphere of a stomach.
"Alright. Ya'll are set. Here you go Mrs. Moore." She handed me two pictures in black and white. I stared at the tiny human and gave Eric an elbow to the stomach. He let out a gust of wind and turned to me with eyes wide in shock.
I chuckled and gave him the pictures, "Take a good look at her before she get's your ugly genes." He playfully rolled his eyes let his eyes wander over the picture. I was lying straight through my teeth, Eric was the beautiful man I had ever seen. I watched as his green eyes skimmed the photos slowly, his high rising as when his pink lips lifted into a smile. He was perfect.
"If that baby get's my beautiful looks she'll thank me for the rest of her life." Eric stated turning his smile into a smirk. I got up from the lowered chair with Eric's help and gave out a laugh.
"Please, if anything she'll be thanking me. Look at my gorgeous face." I laughed, brining my face closer to his.
"Okay love birds, it's time for you to get the hell out. This hospital doesn't need to see how you make children." I stopped looking into Eric's eyes and turned to see the one, the only, Jared Michaels leaning on the door frame with a smug face.
Eric sighed and put his arm around my waist, "Why do you always ruin my moments?"
Jared, my bestfriend since middle school. He confessed his feelings for me in high school, but I didn't say yes because I was too nervous to say anything. We still stayed best friends after all these years, even though Eric and him have a love hate relationship.
"Maybe you ruin them yourself with that shit breath of yours." Jared replied earning a wheeze from me. When Eric was in college he got super wasted one time, so wasted that he was dared to eat a piece of dog poop for 100 bucks. Who dared him? No other than Jared, and he went through with it, but instead of 100 dollars he got monopoly money and a life time of Jared calling him shit breath.
Eric's eyes widened making his soft eyes look quite manic, "That was ONE time and it was your fault!"
"It's not my fault you were stupid enough to eat dog shit, shit breath." Jared smiled smugly leaning off the door frame. I look between the two and smiled, I loved them both.
"Hi Jared, remember me? Your bestfriend." I said taking the attention from a burning red Eric.
"Of course, you poor thing, you have to smell that disgusting odor for the rest of your life...or you could ditch shit breath and come with me instead." Jared said wiggling his eyebrows as he pulled me from Eric and snaked his arm around my waist.
"I don't think so smart ass, she's having my kid." Eric said proudly and lifted up the pictures and shoved it into Jared's face. I laughed at their childish bicker. He didn't have to show him the pictures, I would never leave him.
"I'll take the kid too." Jared smiled putting the ultrasound pictures in his pocket. I looked up at him and glared, but he only smirked back. He loved pushing Eric's buttons, every time we saw him Eric would always leave beet red with steam coming out of his ears.
"Hey! Give them back you pompous-"
"D-doctor Miche-ecals?" A young nurse breathlessly panted out each word. She was both wet and covered it what seem hospital food.
"Jennie? What the hell happened to you?" Jared said scrunching up his face.
Jennie put her hands on her knees and explained her attire,"Mrs. Doris....she doesn't..want to take..her..pills." Our faces turned into confusion to realization to trying not laugh at this poor girl.
"I'll be there in a moment." Jared said trying to old his laugh in. The young nurse nodded as she slowly walked away with her head down."Well, Val, shit breath, I'll be taking my leave. Don't miss me too much." Jared said giving me kiss on my cheek and leaving out the door making Eric try to chase him.
"That's it! I'm putting him under arrest!" Eric shouted as he stomped to the door.
"Eric." I said knowingly, he had tried to arrest Jared 12 times now.
Eric stopped and crossed his arms over his chest before stomping back to me. I laughed and gave him a kiss on the cheek and dragged him out of the room all he way to the car.

Well I can ease you pain
I weakly turned my neck to Eric, he was covered in blood. His green eyes were infused with dark blood and tiny pieces of glass. My eyes widened, I moved back to him, his hair was so soft. I traced his face, there was no movement. I yelled out with every inch of energy I had left. I hugged him tight and sobbed into his bloody neck.
Get you on your feet again
"No no no no no no no Eric!" I cried out. I frantically touched his face looking for any sort of life or twitch, but there was nothing.
"ERIC!"
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?"
I lifted my head up slowly to see red lights pointing to me with a familiar song playing.
"Help!" I screamed, hesitantly letting Eric's face go.
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying"Help-" I felt a warm feeling overcome my legs, I looked down to see blood covering my dress. I sobbed, slowly brining a hand to my stomach. "HELP!" I yelled, the blood and fatigue overcoming me. "HELP!" I shouted, desperation and pain lacing my voice.
I can't explain you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb."HELP!"
But the car reversed, and left.
I have become comfortably numb
Taking the song with them as they left. My screams did nothing, they did nothing.
