Save her

Days went by and autumn came. The weather became quite wet and the low summer breeze turned to a piercing wind. But one thing didn't change: Ginny.

After their first meeting at the Black Lake they met nearly every day at the same tree. They sat onto the grass in perfect silence. Just being there to accompany the other. Harry didn't know how their 'relationship' could be called, but it felt right. He wondered what she was thinking about their meetings every evening. Maybe, after graduating Hogwarts there could be a chance to find his way back to his former friends...

It was Friday evening after dinner. Harry made for the lake to meet Ginny, as usual, and he was really looking forward to it.
But suddenly he heard a scream. His heart skipped a beat- it was Ginny. 'No, no, no, this couldn't happen. Not again. No...'

He ran and then he saw her, pinned to the wall by Malfoy with no way to ecape. They were alone and there was no way to get help for Ginny without being suspicious. Harry panicked. If Malfoy would suspect him to help the Weasleys everything would get worse. He would have had ended his friendship with them in vain.
Then there was Ginny, struggling. Of course, Malfoy was much stronger than her and this time she didn't seem to have a chance against him. “Oh, screw it, she needs help!” Harry cursed under his breath and then went ahead.

“What do you think you are doing, Malfoy? I thought I made everything clear?”

Malfoy stopped, smirking evilly. He turned towards Harry, still holding Ginny without any chance for her to escape.

“And why should I listen to you, POTTER!?”

“Stupid question, I told you.” Harry tried to sound casual, which was much more difficult than last time. He felt Ginnys gaze on his face and tried hard to focus on Draco. “Let her go. Come on mate, let's go back to the common room. I'm pretty sure Weaslette won't tell anyone, would she?”
And with emphasis on his last two words he turned to Ginny and raised an eyebrow.
She was not able to speak but shook her head to confirm what Harry just said.
Draco's eyes darkened and he knitted his eyebrows. “Guess you're right, Potter. This filthy blood traitor isn't worth the risk.” And with these words he turned around and took a few steps before he stopped again. “Go get this dirt to the hospital wing, but make sure she won't tell anybody. If she does- well, you know the consequences…”

And with this, he left.

Both Harry and Ginny looked after him, petrified. Then all of a sudden, Ginny fell on her knees, crying hard. Harry kneeled down in front of her and tried to comfort her. “Ginny, I'm so sorry that this happened to you. I promise, he will never harm you again. Nobody will. I will protect you, even if it's the last thing I do…” He kissed her forehead slightly and grabbed her bridal style to bring her to the hospital wing.
