I was running through the woods not looking behind, my feet were moving by themselves I could no longer feel them, my legs hurt but I couldn't stop running, my stomach was turning and my arms where getting ripped by the branches of the trees as they tried to cover my face, I ran and ran and ran, I wasn't thinking about the blood in my arm or my hurting feet. The face of that man, looking at me with desire, control, power over me hunted me as I ran through those woods. My fathers smile when he saw him come in through the door, and he was proud seeing he liked me, he wanted me. The screams of my mother the night before. A thick branch scratched my face making me snap out of my thoughts and go back into the world, I moved my hand quickly to my check as I stopped running, my hand had blood now, my blood. At this very moment i realized what was happening, I had just run away from home, I mean from my house and my parents, I don't know how much of that you can really call home. I slowed down and touched my cheek while grunting, I couldn't quite recognize where I was, there was not much around me, far in the distance I could hear the business of the market, I kept walking the other way, not sure looking for what, I let myself do something that I hadn't done since I was just a little girl, I let myself be amazed, be free, a smile invaded my face as my eyes got watery and a little laughed came out of nowhere. The forest was perfect, the trees, their sound, their smell, their color, the way they were colossal and ancient and flawless. They felt like an arm around me, protecting me, letting fragments from the sun past thought their open arms, moving in a dazzling dance with the music of the wind. And the smell, oh the smell of the forest, there is nothing quite like it, it's rainy and moist but is soft and delightful, it smells like life, like pure freedom and life. And the colors move all the way from dark, olive, hunter, fern, brunswick, pathan to green, like an oil painting surrounding you with its colors, textures and life. Finally the sound, there wasn't any, one may say if not listening carefully, but you could hear the water as it went down the rocks and branches, it burbled, it was overwhelming but pleasant. I ran through those woods with the biggest smile in my face, dancing from tree trunk to tree trunk, and as my dance continued I saw it. A small cottage, it wasn't your average fairytale cottage, you could tell it was dusty by just looking at it, making it seem empty and abandoned. I removed a strand of hair in my face and flattened my dress as I placed my red hood on top of my head. I walked toward the door and knocked
Why are you knocking?, I mean what are you going to say "hi can I come stay with you because I scape my home with out any real plan" God how stupid do I have to be to do something g like this, I said to myself as I moved toward the window to take a look inside, not to my surprised the house was as simple and basic as it could possibly be. In the back there was a miniature house, like a barn. I slightly touched the door and it opened, I looked shocked at the door, not sure what to do now, thinking it twice, somehow I thought the best idea was to come in. As I suspected the little house was a tiny barn full of hay and nothing else, I coughed as I entered, the place hadn't been open in forever, there was a little opened window in the roof letting some sunlight in but still the place was crisp. I sat in a little corner rubbing my hand together to keep warm . I wasn't sure what to do next but at least it was good for resting. I laid my head against the wall and I allowed myself to close my eyes and sleep.
How long I slept for is uncertain but I woke up to a man standing I front of me holding ax in his hand looking at me irritated, startle, I stood up and instantly reached down for my bow only to realize I had lost it somewhere around the wood as I ran, my next instinct was to raise my hands in surrender and as a sign of what I hoped seemed like peace. No word came to my mouth and I stood there with my mouth dry.
"what the hell are you doing in my house" the man ranted, as he grabbed the ax tighther in his hand, He was told and big, he didn't look like he had much, he was wearing a, white button shirt with the first two buttons open, the shirt was almost brown now, it was covered in dirt, he was wearing black pant and short boots, he had thick hair, it was black and slightly curly, his eyes were blue and his face was sharp. He looked at me confused rather than angry but irritated at me not answering but what was I supposed to say?
