The secret Avenger

Chapter One

You know the best thing about the world not knowing you exist? It's that you can get away with absolutely anything. You could get away with murder, because there is no record of you ever being born. But it's hard when the only person who knows you exist is your mother, and your mother is a trained assassin. 

Natasha Romanoff was sat with her friends, when her phone rang. She glanced at the name that appeared and quickly covered it up before anyone could see. She excused herself and hurried into the next room to answer it. "Alex? Is something wrong?"

"Yes, as a matter of fact there is. You left me here again because you were going on some special mission with the avengers and I literally see you sat drinking beer watching everyone trying to lift Thor's hammer? It's bullshit!"

"Hey! Language! And I thought I told you to stop spying on me?" Natasha sighed, a feeling of guilt going through her. "Look, Alex I'm sorry. We got back from the mission a few days ago and we were just celebrating tonight. I'll come and get you really soon."

There was a sigh on the other end of the phone. "You promise?"

Natasha smiled. "I promise, baby. I love you."

"I love you too mom." She hung up the phone and walked back into the room. 

"Who was that, Romanoff?" Asked Tony.

"Just a friend, needed my take on a case she's working." As she sat down next to Clint, he gave her a knowing look. She nodded slightly so that he knew, but nobody else picked up on it. Everyone continued talking and laughing, mainly about how Thor's hammer and how everyone thought it was rigged, until they heard a weird noise coming from behind them. A shabby, half put together robot walked into the room and started talking to them as they stood up. Everyone was confused, until it was made clear the robot's name. Ultron. Nobody knew what was happening until two more robots came flying in. "My mission is peace in our time." Everything was ciaos. Everyone was trying to fight off the robots.  Thor snatched up his hammer and started swinging it around, hitting anything that came near him and knocking the robots heads clean off. Natasha grabbed Bruce and ran to hide behind the bar. She looked at him deeply. "Don't turn green, okay?" Bruce nodded as Natasha grabbed her gun and started shooting. Without anyone realizing it, one of the robots headed straight for Loki's septor and then vanished with it. The entire room was filled with gun shots and the sound of punches on metal. Clint threw Cap his shield from across the room, which he used to slice the remaining robots. Once the room was clear, they all turned to look at Ultron. 

He went on and on about peace, ending with the big statement that he thought there could only be peace after the avengers were extinct, at which point, Thor had heard enough and threw his hammer straight at him. The pieces of Ultron went everywhere, but everyone knew that his 'mind' still remained and would just make a new body. 

Everyone rushed upstairs, to the lab. Everyone was confused about who Ultron had supposedly killed, until they got into the lab and realized that it had been Jarvis that had suffered his wrath. Tony paced the room, talking technical, until Thor sped across the room and lifted him off the ground by his throat. It was extremely clear that Thor was angry with him, as was everyone else in the room at this point. What made it worse at that point, was that Tony started to giggle. This infuriated Thor. "You have been messing around with the septor, that of which you have no idea what it does!" 

"It's funny because you don't understand why I did it. Was no one there when I deterred a nuke through a black hole? Was no one there when our planet was invaded by aliens." Steve looked at him. "If the aliens come back, we'll fight them together."

"We'll lose."

"Then we will do that together too."

Everyone was silent for a moment. Steve looked around at everyone. "We need to find Ultron."

A few hours passed before Ultron was found. The team headed to a storage facility where he apparently had been. As they busted into the storage facility, there stood Ultron, but he wasn't alone. Behind him stood Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. For a second, they hadn't realized they were there, it was only when Tony made a snide comment to Ultron that they all turned around to see the avengers there ready to fight. Steve looked at the twins. "It's not too late, you can turn around and walk out of here." They just stared at him, obviously not taking the way out. Tony didn't wait long enough for him to make the statement again.

Within a second, Ultron and Tony had raced at each other and started fighting. Thor, Steve, Natasha and Clint all tried fighting off a mix of robots, armed men and the twins all at the same time. Pietro sped around the facility, hitting Steve again and again, whilst Wanda used her mind tricks on them all. She made Thor see Heimdall at Asgard, he saw lighting coming from him and he saw a slight glimpse of the infinity stones. She made Steve see injured and shot guys from war, and he saw Peggy. She asked him to dance and then she asked him to come home now that the war was over. She made Natasha see her old academy. She saw herself fighting guys, pointing a gun at someone, graduating, and a hospital room. 

At that point, all three of them were incapacitated, so they couldn't help with what was going on in the city with Bruce and Tony. Wanda had gotten into Bruce's mind, turning him into the hulk. He rampaged through the city, throwing cars, smashing buildings all whilst Tony tried to contain him with the help of Veronica (the special suit him and Bruce designed just in case the hulk went rogue). Tony and Hulk fought throughout the entire city, making an enormous mess as they went. They hit each other, threw each other at buildings, and eventually Tony was able to subdue him by smashing him into a building that completely brought down the building along with it. 

When Bruce awoke back as himself, he was on the ship with the rest of the team. In the background he could hear Tony talking to agent Hill. "You need to lay low for a while. The public isn't really your biggest fans at the moment, and there is talk about Bruce being arrested." The whole team was silent. They had admitted a tremendous defeat today, and it had taken a toll on each one of them. Tony walked to the front of the ship were Clint was flying it. "Do you want me to take over?" Clint didn't even take his eyes off of the horizon in front of him. "No, I'm good. We are only a couple hours away."

"Away from where?"

"A safe house."
