Credit for Sundown goes to my friend @watermelon_rainwing go check her out. 🙃
Oh boy dis gonna be a long one.
I stretched my golden yellow wings, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. Suddenly, I heard a quiet rustling noise. I whirled around to see Sundown sitting in the corner of my sleeping cave, his barbed tail curled neatly around his talons. He gave me a slight smile.
"Hey, Sunny." He said a little sheepishly. The aquamarine earing he always wore reflected the sunlight streaming into the cave as he ducked his head. I smiled at him warmly, stretching my wings again.
"Hey, Sundown." I hopped off the ledge I was standing on, flaring my wings for balance as I landed clumsily in front of Sundown. I blushed a little bit, my head a few inches away from his chest. His scales radiated heat like the desert sand, but it felt like they were cooler then the usual SandWing's. I dismissed the thought and tried to back away from him, but I had somehow ended up pinned between him and the stone wall. Hadn't I been facing the opposite direction a moment before? I blushed harder, looking at the ground. He snickered lightly, but instead of releasing me, he moved forward, pinning me even more effectively against the stone wall. My wings were scrunched against the stone, my chest was crushed under his. I breathed shallowly, looking up at his face.
"Sundown?" I tried to move away from him, but he had me pinned, a grin on his face. Suddenly, I heard talonsteps enter the cave. The dragon stopped. I tried to turn my head, but Sundown grabbed it in his front talons, apparently not hearing the new dragon. He leaned his face down towards mine, and that's when he was wrenched off me and flung onto the floor.
Sundown's POV
I was surprised as Sunny landed less then gracefully in front of me, but I didn't waste time. I grabbed her with my wings and spun her around, pinning her against the wall in less then a second. She looked surprised, and I could have sworn I saw a hint of a blush on her face, but then she tried to pull away. I leaned forward, crushing her small form against my chest, pinning her wings against the cave wall.
"Sundown?" She tried to pull away again, but I only pinned her more firmly, a hint of a grin spreading across my face. Lost in my thoughts for the moment, I didn't hear the new dragon that entered the sleeping cave. Sunny tried to turn her head, but I grabbed it forcefully in my talons, leaning in for a kiss. As our lips were about to connect, Sunny still trying to wriggle free, someone grabbed my neck spines from behind, yanking me away from Sunny and throwing me against the stone floor. I opened my eyes, my head pounding from the impact, and took in the huge brown form of a slightly worried, very angry Clay.
Clay's POV
I walked towards Sunny's room, wondering if she was awake yet. Queen Thorn had send requests for five new SandWings who wanted to join the academy. Tsunami, Starflight, and Glory had already agreed, but I wanted Sunny to know about it too, since we always made our decisions together anyway.
I poked my head into the cave quietly, looking first at Sunny's bed, then at her desk. Not seeing her, I was about to leave when I noticed what was happening. The new SandWing that had arrived to help us run the school had Sunny pinned up against the wall, clearly against her will, and was leaning in for a kiss while Sunny tried to shove him off her.
I couldn't see clearly. My vision went red with anger. Next thing I knew, Sundown was on the floor, and I was standing over him, a talon on his chest. Sunny gasped and ran over to us, then stopped a few feet away, glancing at Sundown, then at
