Rose was a quiet girl. She hadn't done anything wrong, in fact she hadn't done anything at all in her short life. Rose worked at a gas station. She would watch as people filled their cars with gas: sometimes helping them. Other times she would only watch. That was all that people knew about her: the girl at the gas station. Rose didn't get paid much. It was only natural, she didn't do much. Rose didn't really have "friends". Only people she would occasionally interact with. There was Will, her neighbor. He would say hello to her whenever she passed him on the street. But the few exchanged they had rarely expanded beyond a quick hello and sometimes a "how are you?". I'm not implying that Will wasn't a nice man. He was kind, gentle, all the things you wanted in a friend. Sadly Rose had no interest in him. Then there was Kate. Kate wasn't the...how do I say? Nicest of people to be around. She would often think of Rose as the strange, sad girl next door. Then again that was what everyone thought of her. The few exchanges that Rose and Kate ever had were unpleasant. Because of this Rose thought it was wise to avoid her completely. Rose didn't know very many people. She liked it that way. If Rose could really "like" anything. Tolerate was a better word. If you asked me to sum up Rose Errins I would probably use words such as: depressed, loner, and deep. If you asked Rose Errins to sum up me she would probably use words like: dumb, stereotypical, and sickening.
"Rose? Are you sure you don't need a ride home? It's late." Rose looked up. "I can get home on my own." She said not meeting his eye. "You sure?"
"Yes."
"Well...okay, stay safe."
"I will."
"Goodbye Rose!"
"Goodnight Mr.Garyson." He waved goodbye as she started away. Rose sighed. She didn't like the man. She tolerated him. Rose gave a quick glance back as she walked down the street. Kendal was more of a alleyway then a actual street. It was dark. Dark. Rose didn't seem to mind it. She had grown up walking here. When she was 8 she fell and broke her arm on Kendel avenue. When she was 12 she played hide and seek with Christine on Kendel avenue. When she was 15 she adopted a stray dog on Kendel avenue. When she was 20 she buried a dog on Kendel avenue. Rose was probably the only person to spend so much time walking on Kendel avenue. She didn't know why she liked it. Maybe it was because of the lack of Homo sapiens. The temperature dropped suddenly. Rose shivered. She didn't like the cold. It was too...cold for her liking. Still Rose trudged on. She knew her way home, she'd been up and down this street hundreds of times. Still, it was had to see in the dark. After all, Kendel avenue was famous for having no streetlights. But yet Rose could see something up ahead. "H-hello?" She called out into the black. No reply. She swore she had seen someone. But then again it was dark and her eyes could have been playing tricks on her. A trick of the light, she assured herself. As patient as she was Rose wanted to get home quickly. Snap. Rose looked behind her. Breaking into a sprint Rose Errins ran for her life. Trying to evade her pursuer Rose made a hard left, hoping to get away. All she succeeded in doing was making the situation more dangerous for herself. Her heel twisted causing her to fall face first into the pavement. Trying to regain her balance Rose called out. "Help! Help!" She managed to hobble on one knee only to fall again. "Oh shit...oh shit...oh shit..." Rose cursed under her breath as she tried to stand on her broken leg. The footsteps got closer as Rose frantically tried to get up. "Are you innocent?" Rose looked up. The face was cold and uninviting. "Y-yes...."
